  1. Found LED conversion kit in new products for Monties forum that was started by Rob a while back. Received them today and installed. Only took 3 days to get the bulb socket 3 wire kit but 2 week to receive the conversion kit.. the 3 wire plug allowed me to install the LED kit without removing bulb sockets from the taillights.. ordered both from eBay. I have part numbers and the 3 wire color code change if anyone needs or interested.. I must say, I’m very pleased with the new brighter rapid fire taillights... 2. Hello people! Lol. It's been a few weeks. People working overtime again, coooolllddd weather and the likes. Finally got some more work done. Kevin somehow found the time to weld pieces back into the radiator support, closed some holes, stripped, primed and painted the support and installed it loosely to the frame. My son and I today ran new brake lines to the 4 wheel disc proportioning valve that Kevin fabricated a bracket for to keep it out of the way of any exhaust combo we decide on. He also fabricated a bracket for the line lock solenoid that has been "in stock" for at least 15 yes.ran new lines to the line lock, master and a new. Line to the rear brakes.

  3. So yesterday I took a 6hr ride each way with my son to pick up yet ANOTHER Monte Carlo. This one was in Pennsylvania about 20 miles from Ohio. Some of you may have seen it on Facebook. Well, anyhow here she is. My son's latest addition.

  9. Here is my hitch i just ordered and installed direct from UHaul. You can order one from their site, just put in Chevelle since the frames are identical in the rear. I think I also have that smaller hitch someone posted earlier in the thread if anyone wants it. I have no use for it any longer

  11. Sorry, not much progress this week. Who was working, parts still not here, a roof being done, etc. Lolol. We did get the restored steering column, upper and lower control arms, and restored windshield wiper motor installed. Inner and outer tie rods with sleeve assembled. Calipers painted and new sleeves with bushings installed. Backing plates and caliper brackets cleaned and painted.

  12. Hello, hello! This week's update! Chassis and firewall painted. Parts starting to go back on. Idler arm, manually steering box, coupler and center link. Spindles broken down, cleaned and painted. Tilt column parts all painted and getting ready to reassemble. Still waiting for a few parts to be delivered and have to order some more. Snowball affect! Lol

  13. Hello all! This week's update: Kevin welded up all the "unknown, unneeded" holes in the firewall, we finished stripping down the paint on the underside of the chassis and managed to prime everything. I also have totally disassembled one of the tilt columns we have "in stock" to assess the internals and restore it for an Xmas gift to my son. Yes, he will be getting other things also. Lololol and he does know about it. Lol

  14. AND THE SNOWBALL BEGINS!!!!!! Since mostly everything was removed from inside the engine compartment WE decided to blow everything apart and do it really nice. 🤔 WTH are WE thinking!!!!! Lololol Further forensic investigating shows the she was a low option car. 3bolt small radiator support. The "chunk" missing on the bottom is from the owner before us, he had a twin turbo set up in there. Definitely a very solid 70 was used to build this car. The black you see on the chassis is factory original paint. The radiator support bushings are the originals, front suspension except for the shocks is original. The elephant ears are beyond mint! No cracks and still very pliable! Was told the car was purchased from Michigan. Very rust free car! Originally dark green, taken to bare metal and painted a dark blue, now painted black about 5yrs ago. Now time to strip the firewall and weld up a TON of extra holes, strip the frame and open up the radiator hole.... And everything else! Lolol

  15. Today's assessment- the things you like, the things that are eigh and [censored] was someone thinking. You find all of these when you get a new project. Those of us that know, well, just know. Lol Wiring is, well was- huh? Lol now removed. Brake lines will be replaced. (Zoom in on the pic) all front end bushings toast. Narrowing of the rear- nice! Cutting of the roll bars side bars- bad. Removed most of the interior and cleaned/vacuumed it. Overall- my son, brother and myself are still very pleased with the purchase. Now she needs a GOOD cleaning. A friend and his father stopped by with their toys. On a Saturday ya never know who will show up at my brother's. Lol We fixed a couple of issues they had on their cars also. (last 2 pics) and no, the 72 IS NOT OURS!!! LOLOLOL

  16. Here it is. That’s a nice looking car. But the way I figure it is that you have an engine “in stock “ for it. Free up some space for more parts.
