  2. They updated the total snowfall for my area today, 22-24 inches for the one day storm. Sometimes it was 4-6 inches an hour. That global warming was pretty good to us up to that point though, lol.

  4. Yes it does suck. I laughed at someone yesterday that said thy were buying a truck next time so they could plow. I told her it's fun the first couple of times, you actually hope it snows. But after that, it wears out quickly and just becomes another suck job. 🤮

  5. Don’t be knocking us chevelle people. You do know that the Monte is the chevelles younger, and much more refined, brother right?? 😆 LOL

  7. Thanks guys, the quicksilver shifter does have switches for Nss and rev. So on the reverse switch would one of the wires be a feed wire and the other be going to the reverse light? If this is the case do you know what color (green or pink) is the one for the lights? I don’t have the engine bay wiring in place to be able to meter it. And on the Nss they are 10 gauge wire, the one from the quick silver switch is 12 gauge, Does it really pull that many amps that it needs 10 gauge or will the 12 gauge be fine to power whatever it powers. out of work with Covid so I’m using the time to redo the front end. Got to make it beautiful so the Chevelle people will except me at the car shows lol

  8. Thanks Dennis, received them and installed them. Like them better than I thought I would ..with no changes or splices to the wiring on the car 👍🏻...

  9. The F only appears to show up on 1971 SS454 Montes built in Baltimore. It is speculated the F was to tell the body builder to paint the rear panel black but that’s simply a guess.

  10. This is very interesting information. If the theory pans out, SS cars built in Baltimore will have an "F" after the "B" thereby proving a true SS car. We would need to see a much greater number of SS trim tags with the F. My 71 Baltimore car, originally a 350 engine has the B but no F. Also, was this for Baltimore built cars also? Not to take away from this thread, I'm starting a thread that calls for those with SS car owners to look for the F code.

  11. Update for some side-by-side comparisons. Here's a Gen1 mirror vs a Gen2 mirror. And here's the Gen2 mirror I got, compared to the original Monte mirror

  12. For the reverse switch, it doesn't really matter what wire (green or pink) goes to either terminal on the switch, it's just passing power thru the switch. But for informational purposes, the pink is the feed & green goes back to the reverse lamps. For the NSS wiring, the factory print shows the two purple wires going to it as being 12 gauge, both for V6 & V8 Chevelles and Monte Carlos so I don't see a problem there either. Same goes for manual trans cars, but the 12 gauge wires pass thru the clutch safety switch instead.

  13. These might work with a little rework. Didn’t check if AUVECO still offers them.

  14. Get the car, drive it for awhile and be making a list at the same time. There are a ton of options for getting nice parts, original gm or aftermarket, don’t just buy the first thing you see because you need it. There is a ton experience in this group, ask away we will all try to point you in the best direction.

  16. I was out there from 3 AM to around 3 PM keeping up with the snow. I've done that dance before, if you wait til it's over to start removing snow, you're screwed. The tub had a roughly 6" thick rigid cover, probably foam insulation to keep the heat inside. It seems pretty sturdy, but I kept sweeping it off just to make it easier to get in later. Amazing the number of 'friends' that came out of the woodwork because they know I have a plow. I went in the hot tub instead....

  17. My bad. I would leave it on. My 71 has it on the lower section as well, but my buckets came out of a Cutlass so that explains it. I never knew about the differences in trim until I read about it here. I learn so much here!

  18. We have a place just outside of Middletown Indiana, Precision Alignment, that has all of the old stuff so he can still align our great cars. I had Bruce align ole red when I put on my tires and wheels drives better than it ever has
