Here are a few shots I took last week. Sorry I didn’t get everything and everyone. It is my observation the Carlisle events GM show would have been “not much” without the beautiful first generation Monte Carlos. . Would have been nicer if they could have had a first generation MC tee shirt with the Carlisle logo on it as well. Just sayin. Ron… have more photos to add later from FGMCC hotel IMG_9647.MOV

Very nice car! I like you invested cash and minimum elbow grease. I figure my job is to take it out to as many shows as I can and let the public enjoy it

I ordered my 71 Monte Carlo with the options I wanted, and could afford, and took delivery 14 May 1971. so today 6 july 2022 my Monte is 51 years, 1 month, 22 days old.

Went to a car show in Cambridge City IN today Registration started at 8AM. I decided to go at 9:30. Arrived at 11 and found a nice shady spot to spend our time there in. YAHOO!!!! 137 vehicles signed in. Trophies for newer cars 5, bikes 5, trucks 5, Fire Chiefs choice, best of show 27 Pink Ford Tudor with a chromed out old style Hemi and the top 25 for us normal folks. LOL. Nice heavy trophy, Glendia and I had a good time and enjoyed ourselves, maybe a few more shows will see us but no commitment yet except for Coatesville IN July 16th and Zionsville IN Sept 11th two show I really look forward too.

This pos70 befuddles me. I pull the rearend off the frame and every control arm bolt comes out of the bushings with ease, but the sway bar to lower arm bolts require heat and the impact???? Next up is the transmission crossmember, the 4 bolts come out with ease but yet the end of the crossmember is rusted off. I don’t understand??? Lol. I guess I can’t sell that now.

Thanks for the pictures......rubbin' it in that I couldn't attend.My arm is so weak I can't even open my car door without some pain.Getting better though ,up to 3lbs. lifting weights now. Again, Thanks for the pictures!

Hey Ron, Great pics!!!! I am sorry i didnt get to talk to you much. Your car is beautiful!!! Hopefully next year you will be able to make the trip and we can talk for alittle. Funny you say that about the shirt, i had mine ready to throw on and forgot!! Sucks getting old, even though the wife says its been happening for years!! LOL

Less than 2 weeks away now. Actually my brother and I will be going in exactly 1 week fron today along with a few hundred other campers. Most everything I need is bought of course my favorite beverages 😛 and most of the food except the fresh stuff. Can't wait definitely a good time for sure!

Update to the tractor failure, removed head and associated parts to get there, appears head gasket was leaking radiator fluid into number 3 cylinder and also leaking pressure between cylinders. Appears top of pistons indicate fuel was burning good so probably no block work needed. The rust on top of number 3 cylinder is just surface rust . No scouring indicated.. sent head to machine shop for shaving and valve pressure check ..

I get the same thing from my wife! Hoarder, Hoarder, Hoarder is what i hear from her!!
