  1. I broke down a few harnesses today to save some room. I was wondering if any MEMBER needed any of the connectors? I broke down Dash, Engine, and Trunk Harnesses. The harnesses were in bad shape with some connectors already missing. There are NO extension harnesses at ALL!!! There are also No TCS connectors. Not looking to sell the connectors but you can pay the shipping. Tkx

  4. Brenden, Like you, I'm a Mechanical Engineer so I dig this mechanical fit stuff. 🙂 I used the Wheel Offset Calculator at tiresize.com to compare your proposed set up of 255/60-15 tires on 15x8" wheels with 4.25" backspace to your existing setup of 235/70-15 tires on the same wheels. Here's what I found: First, you can use the table several pages down in the Wheel Offset Calculator to determine the offset for your wheels which is -6mm. This is confirmed by subtracting the backspace of any 8" wide rim at zero offset which is (8+1)/2 = 4.5" from your wheel's measured backspace of 4.25". So, 4.25 " - 4.5" = -.25' which converts to -6mm offset. On the front: Since the 255/60-15 tire is 10" wide and 27" tall (versus 9.3" wide and 28" tall for the 235/70-15 tires) your inside and outside sidewall clearances will be .35" less. I think you can probably get away with that if nothing is rubbing now. On the rear: The reduction of your existing inside and outside clearances will be the same (.35"). HOWEVER, the sidewall clearance with your wheel well lip will only be around .44". I have confirmed this by comparing your proposed setup (using the Wheel Offset Calculator) to my existing rear setup where I have measured my sidewall clearance at .75". I suggest you carefully measure the sidewall clearance to your rear wheel well lip of your current setup at the narrowest point and decide if you can afford to lose another .35" of clearance there. Don't forget to allow for some body shift during cornering or hard acceleration/braking. Wider tires on the rear of any first gen Monte really need to be mounted on wheels with about +12mm offset (5" BS on an 8" wide wheel) to move the combo inboard (away from the quarter panel) where there is more room. Wheels with -6mm offset will actually move your combo outboard about .75" more than is ideal. I think your proposed combo will probably fit on the rear, also, but you'll need to decide if the small outside clearance is livable. Good luck.

  5. I received my Cache Valley Cruise In registration information in the mail today! It turns out the cruise/parade route on Saturday evening is right in front of our hotel. That should be a fun night!

  11. Ditto on what Dennis says. I only have a picture of mine before I started the frame off restoration. I have pictures after it was put back together, not the entire teardown. That was fun for me. Not the cost of putting it back together. I know that there were times I wanted to push it off a hill at the shop we used to restore it at. Now it's sitting behind me getting some "needed upgrades" ..... Things I wanted to do way back when.

  16. Thanks. I never even tried it. Lol. But, there’s always a but, if the front goes up and down and the rear goes up and down wouldn’t that make it an 8 way?

  17. Dennis, your seat should also go up and down to go with the forward and back that make up the "4 way" power seat option. The "6way" added that the front of the seat could move separate from the rear and the rear separate from the front essentially letting the seat "tilt" as well as the forward to back, up and down of the "4 way".

  20. I just added a new vehicle on my policy, the agent said I could save with the "monitoring situation", I told her Highway Patrol and the Sheriffs Office take care of that for me. She didn't seem amused 🤣

  21. State farm has always insured my high performance cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc. over the years with no issues. Maybe you just had a jerk for an agent back then. As far as the car tracking thing, some of the insurance companies have something you can install to monitor your 'safe' driving habits (braking, acceleration, etc). to lower your rates. If I did that, they'd cancel me too...

  22. Soon, Bill. Thankfully we didn’t get the little bit of snow that was predicted, which means their little fleet of “cleverly” named salt trucks didn’t get to make their debut and dump more acid on the streets. Gonna be 60 on Friday! The girls may get sprung from their bubbles soon.

  30. Thanks for the a46 code. Excuse my ignorance here, I never messed with power seats in a Monte, but reading you sheet is says 4wa which I’m assuming means 4 way. Are all the 70-72 power buckets 4 way? Mine went forward and back but I never thought to try up and down.
