  1. Washed both of them. I took the 70 for a ride today for the first time in a while. I have been so focused on the 72 getting done that I have ignored the 70.
  2. Thanks. I'll check into both the Hooker and Holley brands. I thought it would be strange if no manufacturer made some to fit.
  3. Thanks. Does your 72 have AC in the original location?
  4. Hi Guys, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on a good set of headers that will fit on my 350 with factory a/c. The engine is basically stock with an Edelbrock intake and Holley 4 barrel. My goal is to pick up a bit of low and mid range torque, and I'm looking for some advice. I need to find something that will fit, and I want ceramic coated headers too. The guy who does my mechanical work wants to put shorty headers on but that seems pointless to me. If I'm going to the expense of replacing the entire exhaust system I would like to experience some slight performance gain, which as I understand it, shorty headers don't really provide. So has anyone had good luck with a set of full length headers that fit well with a setup similar to mine?
  5. I just ordered a set of Morris 3-point seatbelts today for my bench seat 72.
  6. Added front and rear sway bars, replaced front and rear springs and shocks on the '72. The stance is a couple of inches higher all around, which is exactly what I wanted, and the handling improvement is amazing. I also ordered a set of the 3-point seatbelts from Morris, and spent some time cruising around town in the '70.
  7. Saturday I took the 72 down the mountain into SC and followed old sections of the historic Bankhead Highway between Greenville and Spartanburg before returning home. It rained non-stop. On Sunday it was sunny all day. I took the 70 and followed the Dixie Highway down the mountain into SC again and drove some more two lane roads before returning home. Great way to spend the weekend, traveling old roads in great cars.
  8. Yesterday we drove about 300 miles through the mountains, including a 100 mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  9. About a week and a half ago the rebuilt ATK crate engine was finally installed in the '72, so last weekend we decided to put some break-in miles on it. We sat at the foot of the driveway trying to decide which direction to go. With an overnight bag in the trunk (just in case) we decided to take the roundabout way to Augusta, GA from our home in NC. We followed various two-lane highways until we got there, spent the night in a hotel, then drove back home in the morning. The '72 performed admirably the entire way. Having just driven about 500 miles I had my mechanic change the oil and give then engine a once-over, and now we're ready for another road trip this weekend.
