  1. http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/331314106774 Best price I've seen , they sell these on eBay but you don't have to purchase them through ebay , you can order them , they are located in illinois
  2. I just made mine from sheetmetal , it was only rusted where it connected to the quarter panel , pretty simple if you get in the wheel housing and start bending , piece if sheetmetal ,bent into angle iron shape , just match it up with the quarter off, then when you install the quarter panel you weld it in last , you will already have the basic shape, bend , cut , weld , grind ..... Easy ....
  3. My 72 I am restoring had a green grey interior, there is no factory matching carpet or headliner made by anyone , the seats are actually grey, and the door interior and center console , all grey , the dash is grey with a green top, rear shelf was a greyish green , but the only one made now is green , had to get a different carpet to match , (69 chevelle color) and I bought a white headliner to dye it a Lexus interior color to match the factory one that was bad. A real pain in the butt! But it's looking nice ..... Had to hunt a whole bunch!!!!
  4. Yes can openers work , if you chase it gently with a paint stir stick or something under the chrome as you move down it's easier , just don't pry hard it's a gentle process I moved about an inch or 2 at a time and sometimes you need to go back a bit , if you keep the wood stick behind it for a bit of pressure it's quite easy...there's a few you tube videos on this as well ....
  5. Ok , thanks guys , I have a few but they need rechromed as well , but the reason I was asking is because I was at a swap meet and was looking at a chevelle headlight surround and it looked so much like a Monte one I thought they might be the same , I put chevelle inner fenders in my Monte after about 15 people telling me it wouldn't work , I just decide to buy a set , and guess what ! They fit perfectly , I was able to take out the support brace that connects to the fender and the only thing I had to do with the fire wall bracket was flip it over , perfect fit , and they look nice painted the same color as the car !! Thanks guys ,matt
  6. Is there any other cars that used the same headlight bezels as the 71? I can't find any on eBay or anywhere , was wondering if the el Camino or chevelle? Thanks matt
  7. lol, thanks for the info guys, ive been working so much i havent checked back, and i didnt set up the forum to email me , but the vinyl top was pretty bad shape and i couldnt find one the same color anywhere so i turned it into a hardtop, besides , i could have put my fist in the holes that were in the bottom rear window corners. i had to fabricate the corners as well because at the time i couldnt find ant parts to fix it.the interior is in really good shape and its garaged year round so, it hasnt changed, although i still need to finish the paint job, if it ever stops raining here in ohio, lol,
  8. hello all, new to the forum, i currently own 3 first gen montes, 2 - 71s and a 72. the 72 is pewter silver with light grey ish green interior, and the deats are all cloth, but its like a corduroy , looks factory, but ive not seen but one other that is similar, its hard to match the headliner color, and i cant find one anywhere, so i bought a white one i am going to attempt to dye. it had a vinyl top the same exact color as the paint, and the center console is a light grey/green as well, was this an option of some sort?light green dash pad , and the interior door panels look grey, i had the3m all out , and they are all original, i have never seen any grey interior before? its cool!!!
