  1. Thanks for the replies guys. I was using the wheel to rotate the axle. I think I'll just be nice to it until the end of the season and do a full rebuild over the winter.
  2. Don't have a dial indicator but I think I'll pick one up as this is the third time I wish I had one. I have no idea if it was set up correctly in the first place and I kind of doubt it was looking at some of the other shady things done on the car. It does whine on coast at around 50 MPH.
  3. Hey everyone, I was doing a oil change on my 12 bolt and noticed some slop in the spider gears and cross pin. I was wondering how much is "normal" for these and if you guys can spot anything else that concerns you. Thanks!
  4. New shocks (QA1) and hotchkis lowering springs, coolant and oil change, new B&M quicksilver shifter, new fuel pump, and new door locks.
  5. Went to install my new bushings and ball joints and found my driver side lower a arm was bent... Had to buy a new one.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll do a bit more research.
  7. Considering the fact that those cams are made for big blocks probably not...
  8. This or could also be the distributor gear.
  9. Here's mine after we got it home and did a little tuning. It was running REALLY rich and the distributor was all rusty. The clunking sound on the rev clip is a bad trailing arm bushing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVHdB4hILyA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEUaHef5hc4
  10. Sweet motor. My brother has a 468 with almost those same specs in his 67 camaro and that thing fly's.
  11. Make sure you guys are running header plugs too. Little shorter and makes life a lot easier.
  12. Ditto with the bigger gears. I'm running 3.53 with a TH400 and driving on the highway I'm at 3,000 rpm at 60 mph. But in town with the shift kit and ratchet shifter is a blast.
  13. Wow. Lots of guys running VR1. Anyone have experience with Brad Penn?
  14. I was wondering what oil you guys can recommend for use in a mildly built big block 402. I know that it was rebuilt 4,500 miles ago and that it has a stock bottom end with an RV cam. I don't know bearing clearances. I plan on eventually putting in a flat tappet hydraulic cam and doing some work to the heads. It won't be driven in the winter and almost never on the track. I know what additives the older motors need but I'm not sure if I want a 40 weight or a 50 weight.
