Here's the deal i was sucked in to buying a 3000 stall( $800 CDN)for my 700R4 rebuild and after install ( 25 miles) i did not like the stall so i went back to the shop and asked if they would trade it in for a stock and no such luck. Can someone tell me if the top and bottom chrome pieces are the same. I found the 3 piece bottom at The Parts Place but they don't sell the top 3 piece and looking at the picture it looks the same so why not buy two sets ??? I have the Monte Carlo and SS emblems. Thanks Bill

It"s a lock up as far as i know. When i reach 45 MPH it shifts into O/D and if i pull back into 3 it jumps the RPM back up again and another thing i notice is no matter how fast im going 70 - 80 MPH when i punch it it jumps back into 3 and when i let off a little it jumps back into O/D. One more question what is the stock rear end size for a 71 is it 8.2 or 8.5 ? Thanks Bill

Mr70Monte Can you explain how you came up with those numbers??? because i have the first setup and according to my tach i'm showing 21-2200 and was thinking of going with the 3:90 setup but did'nt want to lose the gains i just got with the 700r4 O/D tranny. Thanks Bill

I just noticed a new noise from what i think is my Rear End ?? it's only noticable when your are going slow and make a turn at a stop sign.... (What i have is a stock 10 bolt rear converted to a possi with 3.36 Auburn and about 2000 miles since install) I've checked the fluid level and all is ok. its a grey color now but was originaly a purple i think it was call Castrol Royal Purple Syntethic. It's only on the turn that it makes this noise and what it sounds like is a Electric Brake on a Trailer grabbing any ideas ? should i change the oil ? Maybe i'm parenoid but i don't seem to get the inside wheel drag on a turn like it use to do when new but maybe thats just my mind playing games because it still locks up when you burn the tires ??? Hav'nt figured it out yet, will take out the plastic gear tomorrow and count the teeth and note the color. Thanks TrueBlue

Just changed from a 2.73 to a 3.36 gears and my speedo is out of wack. What do i need to get it back in sync again. Its a 350 Turbo tranny. Thanks TrueBlue
