  1. It was an option. My 71 402 4 speed has factory installed air conditioning.
  2. I for one feel these new patches are way better than what is previously been offered. Thanks for the pics Dennis.

Yes it is dad behind the wheel when he was still with us. 😓

    My 76

Dad had a 77 GP SJ. 400, th400, 10 bolt posi that he bought new. Was a daily driver till it no longer wasn't.
  5. I have MSD 8.8 wires with a/c sparkplugs in "Big Red" pertronix wires, cap, electronic ignition conversion, coil with a/c plugs in "Barn Find". Obviously the set up in Barn Find looks like stock. It all depends on the "look" you are going for.
  6. Here is another shot. I have 1/2" spacers with a factory stock valve cover.

    I had a 454 74 Monte Carlo, 3-76's 5-77's a 78 and a 79. Still love the 70-72's the best.
  8. On big Red I used a 9" booster from inline tube. I also, like Joe have a vacuum pump hidden under the front of the driver's fender, behind the windshield washer reservoir for extra brake boost. Don't know if I actually need it but from past builds, l just added it.

Welcome Zachary! Great find! More pics please. Lolol
  10. Who makes them? They LOOK better than the other ones and these have the trim fastener holes. 🤔
  11. Hi John, my door panels are not cloth. I don't believe the factory did them in cloth. They are legendary door panels and match the rear factory panels exactly. I believe there are 2 types of vynal on the panel giving the appearance of cloth.
  12. Legendary here also. Front and rear covers, foam, and door panels. Extremely happy with them.
  13. Shouldn't the vin tag rivets be the Rosette type?
  14. Nice John! Any pics of the whole car with hubcaps?
  15. Most of the Monte Carlo bucket seats I have seen and had did not have the "bullet" end caps. That being said, my 70, "Big Red" has them now. Without the end caps, to me, looks unfinished.
  16. After removing the rear seat and side panel you will need to unbolt the window regulator from the body of the car. Then see if you have enough movement to take the regulator off of the window. If not you may have to loosen the window stop (on the bottom) and possibly remove the window track itself to gain the room .
  17. I did the same thing to "Barn Find", my 71 402 Monte that was off the road for over 34 years. Check out the thread" awake after 34 yr slumber. With the exhaust manifolds off it's easier to r/r the engine mounts. I used a ex and a floor jack under the sump of the oil pan. Do one side at a time. Should go smoothly.
  18. Don't forget the Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Buick A-body upholstery. They all used the same seat frames.
  19. Quick answer, yes they are. Just that the Monte Carlo didn't come from the factory with the chrome valve covers on the 402s or the 454s.

    Had to laugh

Congrats to Karen! She's a keeper!
  21. Sport mirror or chrome mirror. They are the same mirrors for 70-72 Chevelle's. The aftermarket makes them.
  22. Well, it's a 70 Flint built car. Meaning, NO build sheet. The last 6 of the vin seems to be early in the production run, so it may be possible the story is correct.
  23. With the key turned forward check for voltage to the coil. Not while cranking, you know you have it then.
