    W code

Most likely a 2 bolt main.

    W code

Definitely the W code in the Vin. CRW should be 72 454 270hp Monte Carlo. CRX is 72 454 270hp Chevelle. Could your CPX be CRX?
  3. Sweet! Glad she's back on the road! Nice job!!
  4. Great idea! Looking forward to see how the engine stands work. Looks good so far.
  5. Hey Ronnie, Thanks. I wanted a low maintenance finish and a stock look. All but the trained eye will notice the modifications. The cam is an old school solid flat tappet Howards cam. 252/260@.050 618/640 on a 108 center line. 3000-6800 range.
  6. My brother and I have been wanting to try this exact thing. Looks like that's all the factory did besides the locating dowl placement for the fender extensions. We will be watching this closely. Haven't heard of anyone trying it yet. Good luck!
  7. Hey Ronnie. Small block or big block? Intended use of the car? On my 496 in my 70 SS I use an Edelbrock rpm air gap intake. Works great on the street and extremely well at the track.
  8. Thank you Andy. All is well so far. Hope all is well with you also. Glad I was able to assist you with your problem. You will find alot of helpful and knowledgeable people on this site. Please stay safe... Tom
  9. Nice shifter. You're welcome. The cable is needed if you want passing gear. When your in 3rd gear and floor it, the cable makes the trans drop down a gear and away you go. Without it, you will have to manually downshift to get the same effect. Unlike an overdrive auto transmission, the th350 cable not being connected will not burn up the trans.
  10. Hey Andrew. That is for the transmission kick down/passing gear. That end is supposed to be connected to the carburetor throttle linkage. You have a th350 transmission. The large end is supposed to be locked into a bracket, usually bolted to the intake, driver's side next to the distributor. Also noticed you most likely have a b&m aftermarket floor shifter. Lolol
  11. Someone with a Chevelle wanted a sway bar and boxed control arms. Have heard of many stories of guys swapping parts out on the lifts at gas stations back in the day. Not saying that's what happened with your new toy. Just a possibility. Good luck finding a build sheet! That would be cool!
  12. Hmmmmmmm 🤔 lololol The sway bar and boxed lower control arms could have been switched out young in it's life. Any chance of a build sheet? My 71 402 Monte, "barn find" has a 10 bolt in it now, that when you look at it you would swear it was factory installed. The boxed control arms and sway bar are still there. The former owner swore that the rear was never changed while his family had it. They purchased it used in 72. And she was off the road since 1985. Just saying, ya never know. Lol 🤔
  13. Hey Willie, Driver's A pillar for the map light. The other wires follow the slight channel on the driver's floorboard. The wires run under the seat/rug approximately under the driver's butt. Lol. To the back seat. Actually, go to the What did you do to your Monte today thread in this section and go to last page. There is a pic of the wire harness. Lol just saw it. 😁
  14. Nice find!!! Looks to be mostly there. What are your plans for her? Looks like things have been changed in her life. Holley carb adapter, what's left of the chrome valve covers and possible bucket seat change to mention a few. By any chance is the air ride compressor there? Again, nice find!!! 😃
  15. I believe you are talking about the front fender fenderwells? I know The Parts Place has them as well as other Monte Carlo specific parts places. I don't remember their specific name though. I think it's a "splash sheild". It's a plastic piece.
  16. Ez pz. Doesn't the new stock cable assy have the nylon retainer already? If it does, Take the split plastic/nylon retainer off the stock cable. If not, Insert the stock cable through the eyelet/hole on the stock gas pedal. Install the retainer back/onto the cable and snap it into the gas pedal and then pull cable tight. Installed! This is after snapping the cable from the engine side onto the firewall . Hope this helps.
  17. I run the qa1 coilovers on the front of my 70 SS with tubular control arms off of eBay.
  18. Here are a few more I have on my phone. From what source, idk. Enjoy!
  19. Glad the pics I posted elsewhere are a help. Idk what view they are of. I purchased the pic off of eBay. Lol but I believe jft69z is correct.
  20. Absolutely can be done without removing the fenders. Also without removing the front tires if you like. You will need to jack the front up though to do it with the tires on. I usually jack up the front end and remove the tires also. Soo much easier. If you are really brave, you can do it with the tires on and not jacking the front up. Not fun though. Lolol
  21. You are welcome. Glad to be of assistance. Good luck!
  22. The ground up one will fit and work. The reason o believe they say it's not for a 400 is it has 2 bolt holes for the mount to attach. I believe the factory 400 mount was a single stud. Just use a 2 bolt trans mount if you don't have one already or a Polly mount. It usually has 3 bolt holes in it. The G force crossmember, if I remember correctly, needed 2 bolt holes to be enlarged slightly. Hope this helps.
