5 of my favorite pics my kids took this weekend for my mini shoot they did all thier selves for a Mother's Day gift for me. They all knew I wanted to some day do a rockabilly look pin up shoot with my Monte. So did it for me. And since I lost a lot of weight the last 2y I acutely am happy on how I looked with it.  💗
(Shoot was done in our side back yard with lots of trees.)

Headlight switch comes immediately to mind as the likely culprit, if the fuses are good.

Been a little busy with the new building, but Carlisle is approaching fast. Hope to get the re-chromed bumper on today if possible, because we're digging for conduit this week.
I did manage to get my center horn button (NK4 steering wheel) modified a bit the last day or two. I found a '72 Monte Carlo hat pin on ebay, trimmed the '72 off then drilled the center emblem for the pin, to locate it. Had to bend it a little to conform to the curve, but luckily it didn't snap in half. A little clear epoxy & done.
I had initially hoped to make a mold of that button, then recreate one with clear acrylic and set the M/C emblem in there, but there simply won't be enough time. Maybe next year...

This will be the first time that I have driven these cars in at least 10 years. Both started right up and were begging to see the road. So I had a little fun this morning.

I just completed a 4 wheel disc conversion using Baer brake parts. I researched a few different brands before settling on them. Like Kevin said, you'll need to get a master that is designed for 4 wheel discs, as well as a new distribution valve for 4 wheel disc. I installed an adjustable proportioning valve in the rear circuit, but probably didn't need it. Won't know until I really get the chance to bed the brake pads in properly and do a bunch of real hard stops, to the point of wheel lock-up. (they want a couple hundred miles of driving to get thru the rotor zinc coating before brake bedding procedure)
Regarding master cylinder bore size, 1 1/8" is the stock 2 W disc size. Baer recommends going smaller depending on your available vacuum & system. I went with a 1" bore m/c from 'the right stuff', purchased from Summit. I don't have a lot of miles on the car since the conversion, but the initial pedal feel, travel, and performance of the system is a huge improvement over the stock brakes. I almost went with the 15/16" bore m/c, but figured since I also have a vacuum pump, I would go conservative with the 1" and drop down if needed. It doesn't appear to be needed.
If you need part numbers, let me know & I'll find them.

You need a new master and prop. Valve. I suggest one from a 80 trans am if your looking for easy stock stuff with rear disc brakes with at least a 1" bore but would suggest an 1 1/8" bore. You will also need a prop. Valve for disc/disc brakes that has a port for the front and one for the rear. Disc brake require a lot more fluid pressure and flow than drums. Good luck

You won't find a better group of people here. No attitudes, jerks, etc., just a bunch of people who will bend over backwards to help out. If you get the chance to attend a club event, you'll be even more impressed with the group.
    As said above, welcome aboard!

Like Joe stated, check the neutral safety switch setting. Make sure you have power going into the switch and out of the switch in park and/or neutral when the key is turned to the start position.
The switch may be bad and was jumped out. That may be the, "I don't know why the wire was cut" statement you made. Just a possibility Willie.

The purple wires are for the Neutral Safety Switch (NSS). If there is a break, open, switch not in the correct position, you won't get juice to the starter solenoid. You may need to dig further to check the integrity of that circuit. If you have 12VDC on one side of that wire, but nothing on the other end when you turn the key, you have a problem still.

The spring inside the push button may be stuck on something or broken. Door has to come apart to get to the handle. You could always try to spray some lubricant like wd40 around the button. Watch the drips on the paint.

If it has points, then you'll need 3 wires at the starter solenoid connections. Like you & Tom discussed earlier, Purple wire would go to the 'S' terminal (who knows why there was a large ring terminal on there), the white should go to the 'R' terminal, then the large cable from the battery to the large, center spot on the solenoid.

Tom ok i will tomm and get back to you guys.
    Joe yes it does.
Paul yes there is a white wire that goes to the coil. Not sure if this starter wire is the same or not.    But i will try it the way Tom suggest and let everyone know how i make out.
    Tkx guys

The numerals are there for 70s and 71s only not 72s. Also the trunk lock Helmut on 71s have roman numerals but again not the 72s
