  1. Had that cam in my 355. That engine had big 200cc Dart heads with an Airgap intake and 3:55 gears. Started out with a 24-2600 converter and it wasnt enuff. Swapped it out for a Coan 3000-3500 10 inch that was tight untill you mashed it...... thats exactly what that cam needed. Got my Monte down the track at 12.80.. Every combo is different but from my experience that cam would do better with more converter.
  2. On my work bench ready to go to Levanti Customs.... Upper and lower Moog ball joints and control arm bushings and new moog 6 cylinder front coil springs to help pop the front up for drag racing. Dbreese helped me with that application. In addition I have DHM electric cutouts ready to go on as well. Birthday goodies. Lol.
  3. Cory, your gonna be haulin' [censored]!! Your gonna have a lot of fun with that motor. Again, enjoy!!
  4. Great pics. Tire fryer for sure. Great heads on that mill too. Gotta love a bored and stroked small block. Whats the rest of the combo? Gears, converter and all that good stuff? Yeah, i'd run ya!! Enjoy it!!!
  5. Looks Like one of my timeslips David. Great job!! Better get a neck brace for those steep gears you have in mind!
  6. I love my 427 sb. Like David, i gotta be close to 600 hp and with all the alum on the motor and wheels plus the fiberglass hood I only weigh 3550 lbs. its a mild build that I can drive anywhere and I get a kick outta pissing off lots of the BB guys when I smoke them on the street/track. Its a blast for sure. Big cubic inch small blocks can get pricey. My build cost a lil over 8k. But to be honest I do love BBs as well and if I had the cash would love to have one built.
  7. Any citrus type cleaner will take that [censored] off easy. I use armorall orange. The citrus breaks thru all that sticky stuff. In my opinion armoral is garbage. These cleaning wipes are golden though.
  8. Very cool. And..... The strawberry waffles were sweeeet!! Lol. Had a blast guys!!
  9. My 70 is a 17 ga. tank

CST 5092 local autozone If the link doesnt work. Look up "gas tank pressure problem solved" on Team Chevelle. Its easy to find.

The problem with drilling in the origional 70 vented cap or replacement is that even though you releave the pressure u still get a lot of spillage. Sam where did ya get the tank from and what brand is it? And also start with a small bit like I said earlier 0.30-0.40. 5/32 and 1/8 even 3/32 is too big Fuel will come out of hole but just a lil. And remember go back and look at those pics. The middle hole is all you need. Keep us posted!

Well if it is a repro and from canada its most likely a spectra and none of the auto part store caps are going to work. Trust me I have many that im using as paper weights. Now if its an origional tank im stumped. Lots of luck in working it out. Ive given you all the info I have. Trust me though, if all else fails just buy that cap. Its only $10 Al

    Is your tank a repro?

John, go back to the link and see the pics. The op drilled 3 holes. Theres no need for the outter holes so the middle hole us where u need to be. Eye it up.

This info should go out to all in this club who have a 70 and looking to replace with the stock factory tank. Spectra premium industries is in the process of looking into this issue. Until they fix it I would recommend that all 70 owners get a 71 tank and use one of the tank vents to allow the pressure out and get a non vented cap or modify this new cap. Steve Levanti warned me about these issues but I didn't listen. Had all the pressure and leakage issues. Then found that tech info on TC and got lucky because the cap really is a cure all to this problem.
