  1. One of my favorites. Its a 72 with a 67 Impala roof the work that this car had done is amazing.
  2. Those look really good I think you got a good price.

    Ash tray

He could be confused as thinking about the non SS Chevelle dash with the sweep style speedometer. They have a different ash tray.
  4. Looks good Darren!! That car looks so much better with rallys on it.
  5. Sorry not much help as Im at work. I have a 71 manual at home what colors are the wires and do you have any pictures. Hopefully somebody might be able to help you before I get home.
  6. Wish I would have known your intentions I had a virgin LS-5 sitting in the garage we could have shipped it in the trunk lol. If you intend on making a LS-6 I would bag the original. As others have said use a crate motor or another 454 and not the original.
  7. Larry and Paul my guess would be you are both correct as maybe GM said no rear bumper guards but a built on friday or special order car could have still had them with the strip deleted. Crazy things happen on the assembly line trust me.
  8. Somebody could make a template out of cardboard if they dount want to ship the strip.
  9. I think you have the right idea by making it out of solid rubber but it may be hard to keep it attached with two sided tape. My first SS had the original strip and it had expanded from the metal rusting. My current SS does not have the correct bumper or I would try to help you out.
  10. Larry I agree out of 1919 cars made say 80% are left thats not enough for a company to take on making molds and production. It would be nice to track down the company who made them before.
  11. I thought if you got the guards the strip was deleted but Im not 100% on that. But any 71 SS without the guards should have the strip.
  12. I really hope they do what is right and get you a new engine. I hate reading stuff like this seeing how I work for a Chevrolet dealer.
  13. Good news we went saturday and found him a Chevelle crossmember. The guy sold it to him for $40.00 and he delivered it.
  14. Steve he has all the parts just not sure of the crossmember.
  15. Mike it is my friend somehow I have a couple lol. He bought my old car and has bagged it. He also is doing the four speed conversion. I told him to buy a Chevelle crossmember but I think he is going to modify the original. I will let you know how it goes.
  16. I have a friend who is doing this to his 71 Monte and we were wondering what crossmember to use. I know the factory ofour speeds bolted in so can he fab the ends to be bolt in or is something else different.
  17. Are you sure the front springs are the correct ones. I had a 71 that someone had big wheels on it and the front springs were way taller than factory springs and it sat funny till I replaced them.
  18. Good looking Monte I agree it looks better with the skirts. Get better so you can enjoy your new ride.
  19. Great news glad to hear he is doing better. Keep getting better Rob.
  20. I have a LS-5 and the block is dated 1/11/70 the heads are stamped b-71 at first I thought they were the wrong date. But the more I look on other sites it looks like they are correct. Do any of you guys know the dates on your block vs your heads.
