  1. So banana-man, what did I ever do to you? rob
  2. Yes I was. I am the Judge Of Elections at our polling place so I had to be up very early this morning. rob
  3. The 55 Chevy was the first year of the Tri-five Chevrolet series. Fifty-Five, 55 and Double-Nickles all have the same meaning. That reminds me, we are now only 55 days and a wake-up away from our first members arriving in Carlisle to kick off our 2024 Eastern Meet. rob
  4. Pennsylvania has stated the the state will start requiring the Summer Blend gas which will jump the prices here. rob
  5. Scott, I have never heard that. I'm not sure what the difference in putting cruise control on an SS454 would make GM more liable than it would on a 350/402/400. It does not make any sense. rob
  6. Is it possible there is only 56 days until some of our members start arriving in Carlisle for our Eastern Meet. Not only is it possible, it is absolutely true, only 56 days and a wake-up is where our countdown is until members start arriving in Carlisle. rob
  7. those are neat, I had never seen them. rob
  8. I apologize for not being clear. I was not intending for this post to be for kudo's being directed to the officers, admin's and moderators. It was only to point out how we don't see that kind of activity here. It is very hard for platforms like facebook to filter out those kind of people due to the large number of people using it. rob
  9. While I would love to drive her across country I prefer to keep her as low of mileage as possible. rob
  10. I don't know for sure on either of these but will answer from what my mind's eye may see... 1) I have never seen seat belt cups for the rear seat on any car. I would think since mostly children sit in the back seat it would be impossible to get kids to use them. Also, since I have never seen belt cups in the front on a bench seat car I would think the belt cups were only installed on a bucket seat car with a console as a storage place for them so they wouldn't slip between the bucket seat and the console. 2) As for the cruise control not being available on an SS. I have always heard this too but I have seen one SS with it. Like Aaron, I suspect it was dealer installed. I had always heard the issue was because of not sufficient due to the compressor. Something I wonder about also is since they both the load level system and the cruise control use vacuum to operate (not to mention the brake booster) the car could maybe not produce enough vacuum for everything to operate properly. rob

Awhile back he had told me he could not make it this year. He sent me an e-mail has now registered with me. Terry will not be able to be there the whole time but he is going to try to be there on Saturday. Terry usually only comes down for Saturday to hang with the club members. If I am not mistaken, John may have reserved the last room in our block at the host hotel. Don't worry if you would like to come but need a room. The Host Hotel is currently SOLD OUT but, I do have a backup hotel under contract for 15 rooms. Also I am working with the host hotel general Manager and they have told me if they get any cancellations outside of our block of rooms and we have someone who needs a room they will offer that cancelled room me for our group. With the registration of Terry Reynolds, we now have 81 members registered with me to attend the meet. 12. I also would love to go to one of Aaron's meets in the BC. The pictures he posts of that area are beautiful. We can't this year but my wife and I have talked about either flying out one year. In reality we would have a couple or 3 options: 1) Fly out, rent a car and join i the fun. 2) Do a Canadian cross country train trip over to BC, rent a car and go to the meet or 3) Fly there from Eastern Canada go to the meet and then take the cross country Canadian train ride back east. rob
  13. Willie, thanks for your stalking prowess..... hopefully we will get some members out of this. Maybe you should head up a "Stalking Seminar at the Eastern Meet. rob
  14. I have no doubt that Dennis can do this and without injuring himself. Did you notice he said no 2X4's are involved. rob
  15. Did you ever notice... on so many of the Facebook groups dedicated to the First Generation Monte Carlo how many Scam Ads and Knock -Off T-Shirt ads they have. If yes, have you also noticed that don't see much of that here on the FGMCC site or even the Facebook group that Aaron (Canuck) manages. That is because of the screening process we use here when someone wants access to post on the site. Even if some of them do get through it is almost always quickly noticed by our moderators and admins and those posts are quickly removed and the poster banned from the site. We rarely have members scammed on items posted for sale here and we rarely have to remove posts or ban people from posting. This is a very safe place to come to for your needs. rob
  16. 57........57..........57...........57 days and a wake-up until our first members start arriving in Carlisle!!! rob
  17. Ron, you should know better than to pay up front, especially cold one payments. rob
  18. Sammy, Thanks for promoting the club but we really need to work on you stalking skills so you can always find not only the cars but all the drivers too. Maybe a seminar in Carlisle. rob
  19. So John, what you are saying is with 58 DAY'S AND A WAKE-UP remaining until our members start arriving in Carlisle, your car is right on pace to be at the Eastern Meet, right? rob
  20. Rob Peters

So, Old Red is ready to tear up the road, hook up the pull behind and head to Carlisle for the Eastern Meet. We hope you will be able to make it. rob
  21. Thanks for joining in on the fun, it was nice talking to you earlier...you should put your car on the Auto Train and bring it too rather than flying. rob
