  1. I drove my Monte to work today. While working on our son's car Sunday, replacing the drivers side tie rods I cracked the Steering Knuckle. He is using Patsy's car and she is using mine so "unfortunately" I needed a vehicle to drive to work in..... BINGO!!!!! No rain or snow forecast today so I decided to drive the Monte. Hard to make the sacrifice but someone had to. rob
  2. Wow, no snow on the ground and yet you can still start to see a snowball starting to roll. rob
  3. Looks like a good start Tony. It is unfortunate that taking pictures of chrome or polished aluminum (shiny objects) never come out to show their true beauty. Can't wait to see the finished product and them mounted on that freshly painted Monte. Keep us posted on your progress and I am sure Tony D or someone else will come across with a good way of coating them again. rob
  4. I agree.... our cars don't need synthetic oil. rob
  5. Tony is on vacation in the Bahamas... Either that or the 80's he is talking is what he is reading on his speedometer. rob
  6. Tony, Do what some others have done over the years.....We have seen trim installed at the Eastern Meet in Commerce Ga... sometimes with Duct Tape. We have seen the decals installed on Kevin's Coke Machine in the hotel parking lot at the Indy Eastern Meet. We have seen other trim work completed in the hotel parking lot in Greensburg, Pa during an Eastern Meet. We have seen Show Panels installed in the parking lot during a Carlisle, Pa Eastern Meet. At the Eastern Meet in Bristol Tennessee, on the same evening, we dropped a tranny pan to replace the tranny filter on one car while we replaced a water Pump on Andreas's Monte.... You see, the installation of of a vinyl roof at the hotel would not be a problem.... Several members coming have personally already done at least one. rob
  7. Thanks Tony.... I am sure it isn't JUST for me because we won't be able to keep others from looking too. She is looking GREAT!!! Keep um coming. rob
  8. Like Tony said.... she didn't go willingly. Also I noticed it was the only one of the cars in the crusher which had been stripped for parts. It is nice to know that maybe other first gen Monte's live because of that ones hardship. rob
  9. Tony, Tony, Tony......you know what it says in the club bi-laws...'no pictures, it didn't happen' rob
  10. Leave it to Larry to find ANYTHING for our Monte projects. rob
  11. You really need a Coon's Tail on that Antenna. That would really set it off. rob
  12. Sorry to hear about all of your issues Larry, it shouldn't happen that way... You didn't say if the noise is now gone. rob
  13. Rodney, I am sure someone here knows but it may take a little more time for that Right person to see your post and respond but I am sure that will happen. rob
  14. Bruce, thanks for sharing your restoration pictures. I always enjoy your restoration records. rob
  15. I can't see much of her front end but what I can see looks to be smiling........ maybe not as big of a smile as is on your face I am sure!!! Rob
  16. Tony, glad to hear the weather did not hinder her return home.... If it had been here I am sure you would have waited for the conditions to be better. Now we can look forward to seeing the progress of her coming back together. Ya can't beat the progress of the trim going back on. rob
  17. Now get that old girl home and get her dressed up to go out on the town!! rob
  18. I agree with others.... go with the rubber. Just a note when ordering, don't forget, some of the lower control arms used round bushings while others used oval. My 1970 350/350 had oval. ron
  19. I was wondering yesterday when we would see some new progress pictures. It was worth the wait Tony. She is really coming along beautifully. You better not finish her up too quickly or you will be tempted to taker her out for a ride on the salt covered roads!!!! Nobody would like to see that!!! rob
  20. Looks good. Boy, with those mirrors nobody will be able to sneak up on you from behind. What are the Mirrors and Instrument Panel from. rob
  21. It really looks great. rob
  22. Torque on the original valve cover bolts is 3-Ft Lbs. As others mentioned, do not over-tighten the bolts because it will cause the valve cover to flex and allow for a leak. rob
  23. Aaron, I agree I think Bruce and I were referring to cars with non stero radio (AM Radio) and AC having the two speakers.rob
