You'll bust it to shreds with slicks. But a 10 bolt can be tough, build it up and I can see it taking it. Normal driving you will be fine. I've been told of a 66 Chevelle 327/350 HP that had a 10 bolt Positraction that my uncle had years ago. He give that car the rough, he'd rev it up and pop the clutch with huge tires on the rear. That 10 bolt had to be bullet proof...almost anyway to take the abuse Marshall give it. He never tore it up. I say to be on the safe side and if you're gonna put money$$$ in rearend get you a 12 Bolt and build it up. It'll set you back between $700-1000 if you let someone else build it, but that is already having the rearend. You can have $1500 in a 12 bolt if you have to go buy the rearend housing.

Some people think they "know it all" and in reality they don't know much AT ALL!!! My small block 350 car has bucket seats and console, but ITS NOT NO WHERE NEAR AN SS. Your car is a real SS, the buckets and console was not standard with any package. Some people.....

They say the new Camaros come with their own vin # and can be titled as a 67 or 69 Camaro whichever one you get. And I guess you don't have to reuse the old vin # on those cars. I didn't even know they made the Chevelle bodys yet.

I say go VINYL!!! My opinion if I were going to buy your car if the seats were cloth, it would decrease my offer on buying the car. On the otherhand the seats being all vinyl and that stuff shining and hurting my eyes in the sunlight, then I would give several thousand dollars more for your car. On a case like this its just like "rare don't make it worth more", well cloth don't make it worth more. And after several years that cloth likes to wear out. One more thing is you will have to bear burning your legs on the seats, and women's shorts can tend to be shorter than mens... That is why my shirt gets soaked on the back in the summer time riding on my dark green vinyl bucket seat. Dang does that vinyl draw heat... Sweat...Sweat...Sweat..

I use "Chrome Polish", I believe made by Turtle Wax, it does a great job.

For any grease use Purple Power. And Brillo Pads may shine up the aluminum. Brillo want scratch. DO NOT use SOS pads, they WILL scratch.

That is quite strange. I've never seen a Monte like that. You have a truly early production car.

Well... I'm sort of building a "what should have been made" Monte. I know I'm nuts for doing this, but oh well, its my car and I'm going to build it the way I would wanted to order one. Can anyone say 72 SS 454 Custom LS6, or in my case LS8, as my engine builder said.? Yes, I wish Chevrolet would have thought about that, just like with the 83-88 Monte Carlo SS, what could have been of those cars with a 350 or even a Big Block. Oh well, many of my conversations about cars are "what coulda, shoulda, but wouldn't"!

Not a 454 or even close, but here are my decals on my 70. Of course the 454 decal in the middle of the air cleaner, the keep my gm car all gm on the side. Harrison AC sticker on the AC box, two emmisions and coolant decals on the radiator cover. Also an AC sticker on the compressor. Of course this is a 70, so the decals are differenct in 71, but located in the same spots pretty much.

Are these new Headlight bezels? If so where can they be gotten? Jared

Yes. The repro mirror is very high quality. And I believe they make the duplicate to go on the other side now.

That is the kit I have. Its been in there for over 5 years, still going strong. So good so far. I would highly recommend it. (knock on wood) Jared

Yes, like said it will inprove the life of a tranny. It helps the transmission change without slippange, the less slippage the less wear. But it also gives you a firmer shift, and at least in my car made it bark the rear tires when it changes, before the shiftkit, no barking tires when it changed.

My car has the AM/FM radio (standard, not stereo) and has a right rear speaker. With the speaker grill covering the speaker. Hope this helps. Jared

Thanks Leo. So if the price is right is the HALO sets worth buying, I mean what can you sale a set of HALO molding for in the present condition these are in? They have dents on the Hard to find front peice near winsheid, both sets. So about what are these worth? Jared
