  1. Unfortunately its on ongoing trend 😡 I'll stop before I go off on a rant 😠

Saved the tax payers $$$$$ on a trial and possibly just a slap on the wrist 😡

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families ( the officers) BIH thug

  2. I believe your talking about the "steering column lockout" arm, (yea one of the few correct terms I learned and sort of remembered 🤣) As Dennis said it's adjustable. Some of us, had an issue with that when we added headers (altho some of us MAY have tried to reinstall backwards, I haven't returned to that issue yet 🤣) I currently still have it zip tied in the up position without the arm going to the tranny 😮

  3. Welcome to the madness 🤘I too was a lurker when shopping for a Monte and became a dues paying member the day it arrived in my driveway 🤣 Thanks for your support, as you know lots of info and knowledge here There's a mini-meet in Bristol in May (check the threads) and a BIG MEET in Carlisle in June. You don't have to bring the Monte to hang out and enjoy the festivities and meet the people from the club.

Sold for $57,000 plus commission. Instead of $62,700 they could have had my 71 SS for $55k. 😁

Made 1K in two years 😮 I'm gonna say Aarons delivered price is a better investment , not to mention well detailed during ownership.

Tough to say, especially if they didn't leave a 'conversion sticker' someplace. Check the high and low gauge access points, do they have adapters put on there to accept R134A connections? That would be my first place to look. Next would be if the POA valve was replaced with a cycling switch maybe.

Ive heard both sides about this and I'm NO mechanic......But was told you can add R134A to the old system. I'm sure someone more knowledgaeable will comment/update this scenario.

DISCLAIMER....... maybe I was told this because I don't run my a/c, I just wanted to test the system after the engine swap to make sure everything was working properly. I bought the adapter kit, charged and tested the system, all ok. Haven't used it since. I removed the fittings to keep the stock look 😮

Thought it would be funny...... A canine security system that doesn't detect feline mechanics.

No way I I’m not frying my brain to remember all those cars - truck.s maybe someday I’ll sit down and write them . I will show you a picture of what my first car looked like back in the 50s … I was only 8 years old 😂🤣IMG_2680.thumb.jpeg.0f7d26d06ff5e029d25fa18ce4451b2f.jpeg

Can't be that good of a security system......

If you take a really close look, this is what I saw under the front tire. I think he was fixing the brakes ??Mechanicat5.jpg.453a037322f0ea2977a094ba6551f745.jpg

Not sure why you quoted me in this 🙃

  9. 2 things, and I'm NOT trying to pick apart your car......1st loose the front SS license plate.....and I did the same thing for a minute 🤣 it takes away from it being a Monte SS not another GM SS. 2nd either remove the rad overflow tank ( it looks like hell in that clean engine bay) and the 70's didnt come with one. Or get a new replacement (for example for a Nova) and put it in there. Looks like you fab'd a bracket for it. Like I said, really nice looking from the pictures good luck wherever you choose to list it.

For a conversation piece, put a black zip tie on the upper rad hose to the fan shroud, those in the know will be checking to see if its an original piece because they aren't available anymore,

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think BJ allows reserves.  Unless it’s a multiple six figures car.

    Gorgeous car man.  Good luck.

I just looked it up, and I'm sure there could be exceptions BUT true that BJ in their policy is all cars are no reserve. Might want to wait for Mecum in Kissimmee next year. Or test the waters with Bring A Trailer auction.

It's not easy, but entirely possible to pop that gear out, hold it in place, and measure the gap.

There is a simpler way that I used, but not for everyone I imagine....

Saw on Roadkill, if you don't have the gap tool the end of a zip tie is about the same size

Side note:  I just noticed you’ve got the “Grandpa Guides”…. garage floor marked with various colored tape for parking assistance. Check your mail this week.. Im gonna send you a tennis ball on a piece of string to hang from a joist over the back window 🤣

PS - I’ll remember to bring my Members Only jacket to Carlisle, you try to remember to bring your Geritol and walker 🤣😂

Its NOT a depth perception issue, but yea stuffing the suburban and the car requires a little width guidance 🤣 But I appreciate the offer.

On a side note, its funny how many people were cautious passing me on the interstate in the old suburban

Mark my dad had a 68 montego convertible and a 64 comet convertible would love to find one in his memory.  He traded the 68 for a van and he wrecked the 64 one night when a tree jumped out in front of him. He walked home 3/4 of  a mile with broken nose bloody face and got a neighbor to help him get it out. They ended up calling a tow truck and when police showed up every thing was under control he didn't ask any questions.  It was a simpler time back then. But I loved both of them cars.

I was looking at a sweet restored Montego GT big block when I found my Monte, Glad I got the Monte and found this place 🤘This guy used to run the local track back in the day...

Don’t EVER bad talk of our Members Only jackets, capiche?  I keep mine in the ‘Vette with a 100 pound, German engineered security system activated. Ain’t nobody taking my M.O. threads!
