The part I'm looking for is on the fender itself...I'll get a pic of it later tonight
-
Thank you!

Hello everyone! I had a few questions/requests if possible. My assembly manual hasn't come yet, so I need some guidance. I don't have pictures tight now as my phone was dead last night... There are brackets on the front of the fenders, vertical when installed I believe. I think these are for rad support and fender extension? But not sure. It looks like my passenger side has rotted and lost a piece at the top. Is this for the battery tray? I'm moving my battery to the rear so I wont need in that case. I'm just not sure if I can use what's left of mine, or should buy new/used, or fab myself.

What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

Cleaned up pretty well. I could probably just go to filler...might try to make another pass with welder...undecided lol. I still have to strip them and do some hammer dolly work. -

I'm pretty sure it's an imperfection that needs to be fixed. It looks like a dent, or maybe a fastener was left on when fender was removed and bent it in? Either way, it's on the bottom of the car so I probably wont worry too much. This is 100% NOT a show car so I'm not taking as much time as I could to perfect everything. -

This is great! I am definitely going to have to make a list...tempting to get a master kit...even though it will come with things i do not need. The price might be worth the extra fasteners.

Oh boy, thanks! I just checked, it looks like they have 2 versions, one is just stainless I believe. I'll call in the morning to make sure it comes with what I need. I'm guessing I'll also need a headlight adjustment kit.

So I'm going to be putting the front end back together again soon, and I need fasteners. I kept as many as I could and labeled them, but I had to break or cut lots of them. I'm looking for a fastener kit, or several that will get me what I need for fenders, inner fenders, and core support/headlight hardware. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with any of these kits. Thanks!

Had some extra epoxy that needed to get used or tossed, so I stripped the cowl, refreshed the firewall a bit. -
Alright, this will probably be my last update to this thread. Epoxy on the repair, then some fiberglass body filler (upol fibral lite) with epoxy over top. Personally, I rushed it a bit but I don't care! I could have spent the time to perfectly shape the filler, but being that it will mostly be hidden... Now when I eventually get around to blocking the whole thing I might take the time to perfect it but for now its good enough for me!

2 light-medium coats done. Not sure if I want to do another but I might. Haven't sprayed in 15 years, and didn't have my work light...but I dont think it looks bad. -

Rolled her back in the shop, shes all dried up. After a wipe down with wax and grease remover she should be ready for some epoxy. Also, some pictures. Don't mind the core support, it will be refinished soon. -

I didn't take any at the end of the day because I was soaking wet, and my phone was dying. Just a mounted caliper. The rotors are ugly, but they "were" new ... I'll be getting a new set when I have to worry about stopping on a regular basis. I also need new (and longer) wheel studs... I'll take some pictures when I go out to roll it back into the shop. -

New calipers are in with new pads. Brake lines have been checked, remounted, all hoses replaced. Cleaned and painted brake booster, installed new master cylinder, bled all lines clean. I have working brakes for the first time in this car! I also reapplied ospho to the inside and undercarriage, neutralized and rinsed with the pressure washer. Hopefully I can get some SPI epoxy primer on there this week! -
I've been spending the last several weeks cleaning out the inside and undercarriage with wire wheels, putting in floor and trunk patches. Recently used Ospho on the inside and undercarriage. Sadly all my days off have landed on the wintery spring days we've been having. As soon as it's nice out I can neutralize and epoxy, hopefully next week. For now, I figured since I've got the car on the lift, I'd take a lower rear picture. Post Ospho.

Did some shop cleaning today. Gave the monte a good air bath to blow out some dust and rust. Also, shrinker/stretcher and bead roller came in today. Played around with the beads and steps, made a floor patch. Got all my major floor patches welded in. I won't lie, they are (in my opinion) ugly as sin, but very strong. Had a few welder issues during the process, but it should be fine. -
-
Needs to be finish welded and cleaned up, but everything seems ok. Need to order new weather stripping, but the old ratty one fits real nice
-
I think the shop might be acquiring a shrinker/ stretcher soon lol. He was talking about maybe getting a bead roller too...would be nice ...

Corner gutters placed. Working on the lip for the gutter. Corners are being difficult but I think its coming together.
-
Got channels in, started measuring and bending for the lip to weld to it. Sunday I should be able to get something tacked in.
-
This looks like it could have been an option. I'm wondering how close the trunk lip is to a monte.
