  1. Look down the threads on the one. I asked that question last week! 😊
  2. I know OPG started shipping them out awhile back FINALLY.....Does anyone have any comments about the quality and fit?
  3. Nice! Yeah that would drive me nuts I wouldn't want them either!! 🤣🤣
  4. Haha nice!!! I got the replacement locks from SS 396 and they look identical to the factory Originals from 1970. I am glad you got all your keys in order!!
  5. That looks really NICE! I also want to go this route with mine!! Do they not provide a light for around the headlight switch? 🤔
  6. Yea that is fine too, the only ones I can seem to find though are the big buckles for bucket seats I have the deluxe belt with the small buckle for bench seats.... unless all the retractors are the same? Then I would just add my belt webbing?
  7. Hey Everybody! Is there anyone out there that knows who repairs these seat belt retractors?? The one on the passenger side pulls out and goes back in, but will not lock.... maybe it's a simple fix I don't know....
  8. On my 70, square is for ignition and doors, round is for trunk and glove box. May have changed for 71? Later GM cars I have had, are as you stated, and most repos are like that also.
  9. So I think I found they correct style lock sets from SS396.com I just ordered them. 😁
  10. https://www.carlocksandkeys.com/blog/all-about-gm-general-motors-lettered-square-and-round-key-blanks/
  11. A is square B is round. I think you need to change all the locks through. I don't think you can get A,B key blanks and cut them to match yours there is a slight difference in the key itself....I think.......... won't cost you much to get a few blanks and try though.....🤷 Sorry I got you all wound up about this too......🤣🤣🤣🤦
  12. 🤣 for 71, your keys should be A,B. Sorry, little details like that drive me crazy 🤪
  13. Yes, E,H, is for 69 & 73. 70 was J,K. I never knew every year had different key letters. Thanks for the suggestions everybody! 😊
  14. Thanks guys! Looking for a new lock set, I know you can still get the correct key blanks. My ignition key will start the car, but can be pulled out after it is running, and my trunk lock was accidentally hit by the sander while doing body work, so the chrome got rubbed off on one side. Figured it would be easier to replace with a new set. A lot of the repo ones I find are the incorrect lettering on the key, ( I know it will still work, but it will bug me.)
  15. Does any company out there make the correct style oem lock sets with the J,K stamped keys for a 70? I can find sets of locks, but the keys have different letters. From what I understand, the letters correspond with the year of the car. Thank you!
  16. Thanks for the Info! Considering they manuals are non-existent I was very skeptical!! 62K is crazy money, but I see why now!!
  17. Has anyone posted about this car? I doubt it came from the factory like that..... https://www.clasiq.com/auction/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=2.+Buyers+-+Newly+Released+Auction+-+Cars+for+Sale+Following+Week+(8-15+Days+Left)&utm_term=MOF%2FBOF+Retargeting+-+Following+Week+Auction+(8-15+Day+Cars)&utm_content=CAR++-+1970+Chevrolet+Monte+Carlo+-+396+4-speed+-+Week+87-1
  18. Thank you! That is very helpful!! I hate puzzles 🤣
  19. Hey guys! Can someone please explain the correct way to stow the jack and spare tire on a 70? I have the sticker in the trunk lid but it's not very clear.... it looks like the jack goes under the tire. Not sure about the jack hook, base and the tire iron. Any explanation or pictures would be appreciated thank you!!
  20. OK I will have to investigate my intake. Thank you!
  21. Well, it is not holding vacuum, also has brake fluid running down it from the back of the master cylinder. My dad looked at it and said the vacuum line is not hooked up right either, which may have destroyed the booster. I have a line running off the back of the carb going to a "T" from the "T", one line goes to the booster, the other line goes to the PCV valve. So yea I have a mess 🤣😬
  22. Hey Guys, My brake booster isn't holding vacuum like it once did. Any suggestions on a good replacement booster and master cylinder kit? I figure I might as well just change the master cylinder while it's getting done. My car is a 70 if that makes any difference. Thanks!
