  1. I made one out of wood and made it wide enough that it would hold the body where the inner and outer rockers are welded together. I used some casters from harbor freight so I could roll it around when I needed to move it.
  2. A picture of the rotted area would be helpful. I've made my own windshield channel for a few cars using a brake and a shrinker/stretcher.
  3. In the last picture it's hard to tell but looks like there might be evidence (maybe 1.5" from the left of the picture just above the drop rail molding) of some solvent pop. It could be a reflection from your garage though - hard to tell! When painting a small spot like that it is easy to go overboard and apply too much paint too soon.
  4. Check the pickup(part that clamps to the plug wire) and the wire to make sure they aren't damaged. Often the clamp or the wire will get burned on the exhaust and give erratic strobes.

  7. I use a generic cheap flaring tool and as long as I clamp it in the vise it makes pretty good flares. The hydraulic tools will make life easier though.

  9. If you are looking for a direct replacement Inline Tube is the way to go. If you are looking to bend your own you could get some copper nickel brake line and fittings and bend your own pretty easily. I've done that on a few cars.
  10. I've never had a problem with that much stall in a street car so I don't really see a problem with that. A 700r4 with e very upgrade available might last a while. If I wanted overdrive I'd either go with a 2004r or a 4l80E.
  11. Just be mindful when you install them and tighten them slowly. It doesn't take much to distort the large fenders on the Monte Carlo. I had to elongate a few holes. If I was to replace them on a car that didn't need any body work I would go with the Monte specific plastic ones.
  12. You could just cap the vacuum ports on the carb if you don't want to use the solenoid. Its purpose is to advance ignition timing.
  13. I used the AMD one and it was a pretty easy install with minimal fabrication to make up for the roofline difference.

I checked the original line off my car against a store style o-ring assortment I have(the old kind where each compartment has a specific size of o-ring so you can buy just the one you need) and the one that seems to be the best fit has the following specs: ID: 3/4 OD:15/16 Thickness: 3/32 The original o-ring is very compressed and flattened so pretty difficult to tell its original dimensions.
  15. If it has a Qjet removing the fuel line and looking at the filter in the carb is a solid first step. A lot of times the tanks rust and that rust ends up plugging the filter.

  19. I'd start out with lacquer thinner, scotchbrite pads, and some patience.
  20. I have Hooker coated super comps on my 72 Chevelle and they fit pretty spectacular.
  21. I keep the wheels/tires on while fitting body panels and I make sure to align the fenders and install the hood and trunk lid before I finalize anything. It looks pretty good though for just being mocked up. Not sure if you replaced body mount bushings yet but I'd make sure to replace those now. If you are looking for dime gaps adding material to the door edge would be the way to go.
  22. You would be well served to pull off the vinyl around the window channel to see its condition. If you are careful and that area is in good shape you can always glue it back on.There is also nothing that says you can't buy a full quarter panel and only use the sections you need.
  23. I agree. If you need to add material add it to the door edge. Some pictures would definitely help.
  24. If you are just repairing areas around the wheel opening than a skin works good for that. It's hard to tell from the one picture the severity of the damage that needs to be repaired. Having said that, a new quarter would likely be my vote. Especially if you have any rot in the rear window channel.
