  1. Just to be clear are you talking about the key/tumbler or the actual ignition switch ( bolted to the lower shaft on the steering column). ?
  2. I kinda thought you might. Hence the flush comment. Lol.
  3. Well I officially got the last of my back order parts. Ya. Now I can have the headliner redone, but of course I’m being ghosted by him cuz he’s been paid, and get the glass put in. The end is near.
  4. Yep. That’s the orange stuff. It’s not that the antifreeze was bad, it just didn’t react well to aluminum and metal combined.

    East coasters

I just got off the tractor/plow. We only got 4-6 inches. I feel for you guys out east. Probably 1/4 mile total driveway that’s including the neighbors. I think I’ll take the Monte out and see if I get get up the hill. Lol. Not. Our driveway sucks, rutted up nasty asphalt. Next year’s project
  6. I think I would stay away from the 95 and up gm orange. All makes all models should be just fine. Make sure you flush it really good to make sure you get the crud out.

    East coasters

We got about 4 inches today. But nothing like what is projected to hit the east coast. Again be smart and safe.
  8. Very well done. I knew I was close though.

All you east coasters please be safe and careful with this snow storm coming and potential flooding.
  10. A buddy of mine just inherited a house, you’re side of Hays. Just off 70. But I can’t remember the town.
  11. You can do it in the car no problem. The less the body is together the easier it will be.
  12. Welcome. Plenty of helpful info on the site. I got the error also.
  13. First of all hello back. The two engines (454) will be pretty much the same. There is no timing belt. It’s a chain and gears. Cam can be changed in car. Pull fan shroud ( probably the only advantage of the wasted space under the hood) and possibly the radiator. But my question is why are you doing that? Please post reasons for cam change. That’s not an easy job. Intake manifold, valve covers, rockers and lifters, water pump, harmonic balancer, possibly the oil pan, timing cover all have to come off. And then there is the little stuff.
  14. Nice looking cars. I didn’t go but probably a lot of the “ special “ cars were here at the Cavalcade of Customs show here a couple weeks ago. Also sponsored by World of Wheels.
  15. An extreme amount of time and patience is needed to do this. Well done guys. Very nice work. I used to to that years ago, but I don’t think I could do it now. No patience.
  16. I’m glad I didn’t eat today. Isn’t that one of the things that a good moderator would censor? I’ve seen a lot less offensive things whacked from the board. Lol. Jk.
  17. They got Karen’s suv a couple weeks ago. Ate the harness right off the alternator. That cost me a tow back to the house. I took my pickup out to get salt for the driveway, missing like crazy. Popped the hood in the parking lot and the little f…… ate the injector harness and egr valve harness. Not happy.
  18. I just took this picture. Little rat bast… but these guys don’t help either.
  19. Don’t blame me—- this time lol. I didn’t bring up the squirrels. I did talk about a tree though.
  20. I converted mine from am 8 track to am/fm. But I did have stereo speakers. So easy peasy. I’m still hunting am/fm 8 track.
  21. I hate squirrels. Dang rats with long tails. They steal all my bird food too.
  22. In addition to the above there’s a ton of other things also, carb setting, timing, etc. I just went easy first.
  23. That’s generally going to happen for a couple reasons. First the car is not ever warming up, it’s not getting hot enough to burn the fumes and they are building up. When the car is cold you’re pulling in more fuel do to it being choked and it’s not getting time to burn it. Also check all vacuum hoses for proper hook up. There is a canister by the drivers headlight( opposite side of the car from the battery but close to same place) make sure that is all hooked up. Should be three hoses. Short starts are really hard on cars. Put good gas in and let it run.
