Headlight extension lower trim piece?
Glen replied to 1Bad454's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
A lot of people put them on upside down on the Chevelles to compliment the upside down ‘SS’ badge on the grill. Or so I’ve heard… -
I beg to differ… Come on now!! if you’re gonna tell a fib, tell the whole fib. I was able to pull off a day of parking with the club. Looks like “someone“ forgot who they were parked next to on the show field. Now Day 2? Yeah…I got busted 😂. Here’s photographic proof as a reminder for those with short memories…

That’s why your nickname was “Tiny” in high school 😂🤣

Welcome! Car looks great. Very nice find.

Everything about Dennis is a disappointment. At least these will lend to that consistency.

I did all Legendary interior (major pieces) on the ‘70 in July of 2022. I got all the other small bits and pieces (except seatbelts) from OPG. Very happy with the end results…

I overinflate rears to 60 psi so even light pokes of the loud pedal results in copious amounts of smoke. Kidding of course, but that’s what some clown in high school did with his ‘65 Malibu. Aahhhh… the good ol’ days.

Prices for interiors these days are out of the statophere. Need Joe T. scoots to do a full interior gut

I see what you did there 😉 -
Quit stalking! Next thing, you’ll be driving past his house wearing a sock puppet on your shifting hand, a box of candy on the dashboard and a puppy in the passenger seat.

All this talk kinda makes me miss EVC …🥺

Cool! That removes any remaining confusion. This steering wheel stays.
-
There is nothing else steering wheel related in my RPO’s. Really not that big of a deal, it just got me looking for clarification once Dennis muddied the waters with his two cents. I actually like this style better, but would consider the other in the name of originality if it was determined this one is indeed incorrect.
-
If you’re referencing boxes 69, 70 & 71… 69 appears to read “STRG ???” (WHL??). And then, of course there’s a spot right over the code, but it looks like it starts “A”. “NK1” does NOT appear on the Build Sheet.
-
Oh #%*@ !! I never noticed this. I seem to remember the previous owner from Wisconsin who I contacted through phone numbers on old receipts telling me he didn’t think it was original to the car, and I kind of dismissed it at face value. Is this wheel RPO N33?
-
My ‘70 arrived with this wheel. I wouldn’t be adverse going back to the original if I can find one in (near) perfect condition.

Some nice ones at Run to the Sun show in Myrtle Beach SC

Lots of nice lookin Montes there. And take your time in your hunt for YOUR Monte. Make sure you get exactly (or as close to exactly) what you’re looking for. -
1). “To the "jack handle" pic poster I suggest you buy some inner fenders and the use the lug nut end of the jack handle to pry open your butt and let out some of the s--t you are so full of. Doing some research after the jack handle I noticed that I am not the only one who has been honored with a wise [censored] arm twisting about paying dues. I felt good knowing I was not alone.“ Correct. You are/were not alone in the ranks of site visitors who’ve been called out after not contributing. Not the first, and probably not the last. No sacred cows, as they say. And not for nothing, we have members who live overseas - who will likely never attend a meet - become dues paying members. We also have members who’ve paid dues for years and never comment. They understand and respect the whole concept of reciprocity as it pertains to the benefits they reap from the site even if they never post. The magic which happens behind the FGMCC curtain takes time, effort and yes… money. 2). “For the mathematically challenged that boils down to just over 1 post a month if I indeed have been a non dues paying member for 10 years. I can't recall the "Member Since nnnn" number right now but let's just say 10 years for the h--l of it.” 🤔… “mathematically challenged”, eh? Here’s an equation for ya: 2024 - 2004 = 20 years Here’s an explanation of these variables for those keeping score at home: (Current Year) - (Year LS65Speed Happened Upon the FGMCC Boards) = (Years Wallet Evaded Pry Tool) In the time you spent crafting your response, you could’ve PayPal’d your $25 dues several times over and been on the other side of the “two class system” 🙄

I’m also confused… I’m assuming that the first picture is the backside of the front bumper BEFORE replating? Second pic the face of the front bumper AFTER replating? Cuz that first pic definitely looks like rust in several spots.

You lost me at “the lady told me…” 🤣😂

I hear you, Mark…and I agree, 100%. However, maybe my not-so-subtle attempt at sarcasm and ball busting influenced the (lack of) responses. Yeah, I’m blunt at times, but I also feel that people occasionally need to be gently reminded that answers to questions - even “simple” questions - requires time. There are people here who spend a considerable amount of their time digging through resources, old parts and prior FGMCC site content to provide the best available answers and advice to anyone who asks. On occasion, it’s perceived this time and effort is taken for granted. To put it in perspective, one would likely be charged for simply consulting a mechanic to diagnose a problem; here, one will not only find the experience and expertise of those mechanically inclined, they’ll reap the benefit of knowledge from those who own the same car. In my mind $25 is the bargain of the century for access to this Monte Carlo treasure trove… even if you have to endure my unorthodox method of criticism. Please don’t interpret my barbs as personal… I’d tell my mom the very same thing. And not for nuthin’… I responded to your comment in under an hour, Mark. See? I didn’t make you wait 2 days.
