  1. When I have the time I’ll take a closer look and get the camera zoomed in on them. There is a GM Part #465840 as supplied by Joe (Dennis supplied the insults and belittling quips). Whether this number appears on the shields is yet to be seen.
  2. “The parts catalog does show a shield for all 72-75 402, 454. but only shields for small blocks prior to 72” Thanks, Paul **. I’ll assume the ones on my ‘71 were added by Bob or someone else at some point. So in the interest of keeping the ‘70 original when the time comes, I will refrain from purchasing them and adding them to the pile of OE parts I’ve been accumulating. ** See, Dennis. Paul answered my question without resorting to telling me “you were such an ugly baby that your Mom tried to return you”, “Mongo couldn’t find drugs in a medicine cabinet” etc, etc. You could probably learn a lot from a guy like Paul.
  3. Willie, 1 - thank you and I look forward to what you find and report back with 2 - I make no promises
  4. Wrong. I simply said that I hated you both. Big difference.
  5. Wow, what? There’s truth in every aspect of my post. Kinda.
  6. Looking for confirmation either way whether the ‘70 SS’s / Big Blocks came with the plug heat shields. My ‘71 DOES have them, ‘70 currently does NOT. Joe was kind enough to hit pause on his Columbus Day festivities to check his library, but literature he found showed just the small blocks having them. Dennis chimed in, but his contribution to my question devolved into name calling, belittling and the typical bullying for which he’s famous. I truly believe he finds great pleasure in non-answers and non-sensical blather at my expense. Must be residual effects from various head injuries he’s sustained. But I digress… heat shields as OE on ‘70 big blocks. Yes or no?

    Welcome! Good group here.
  8. Well done! Car looks great.
  9. Behind the seat backs. Under the dash pad. On the back of the door panels.

  11. Mad Max meets Ghetto. Hard pass from me.
  12. Very cool. That location seems to be one favored by the Leeds assembly people. Bob mentioned (if I recall correctly) finding remnants of one in the same spot when the ‘71 was torn apart for the repaint. Woulda sucked if it was the only one, but I’ve got 2 so I won’t complain.
  13. Great cause and congrats!

Broken screwdriver? You handed me a butter knife and said “same thing, Glen… don’t worry about it”. As for the vocabulary lesson… I have flashes of brilliance occasionally. Today was one of those flashes. 😂🤣

Yes sir. Perhaps Dennis can get “SCHADEN” and you can get “FREUD” and then you two bully’s can park next to each other at the FGMCC Meets.

Hey, I’ve got a valid excuse. I ate lead paint chips until I was 17 years old.

PS - I’ve already contacted the Ohio department of motor vehicles to see if they would make an exception and put this on a personalized license plate for you. I’ll let you know what they tell me. SCHADENFREUDE

Oh boy. I see you’re the type of dude that kicks people while they’re down. Instead of leaving it at being a teaching moment, you went ahead and rubbed salt in the wound. I hope you’re happy Mr. Tretter.

C’mon! You’re better than this. Thought you woulda said something like “at least you didn’t “fix” it like you fix loose radiator hoses”. I’m really disappointed with your response.
