  1. Yep, it’s becoming pretty clear. All Baltimore 71 SS trim tags I have seen including mine have the “BF”
  2. Well, I’m new here but have learned that a 71 SS has an “L” on the trim plate if it’s built in Kansas and it looks like the Baltimore cars had a “BF” on the trim plate for the SS in 71. Best is build sheet and original motor but these trim tag ID’s I just mentioned are as solid. Then obviously you can look closely at the car for the SS signs of what should be there. Rear end, tranny, load leveler system, boxed lower control arms and on and on.
  3. Hello all, I stumbled across this if anyone’s interested in it:
  4. I don’t do it professionally, it’s just a hobby that got out of control, happens to a lot of us I guess. But it keeps my after work hours and weekends full that’s for sure. It may take me 4-6 years to finish a car because of my work and money — typical I guess. Here’s a few pics of my other restored cars:
  5. Hey Dennis I’m not worried, maybe I can fill up my 25 year old daughters bedroom and she will get the hint LOL😁. But in all honesty I do have the space and a full shop, this is my 6th frame off restoration. I’m finishing up a 68 El Camino SS 396/350 that is triple black with bucket seats console and original Muncie 4 speed. So it may be a bit before I tackle the Monte but when I do I’ll be all in. Looking forward to it. Thx for the cool pics👍
  6. New fully paid member! Hey all, I registered a few weeks ago but the experience, knowledge, helpfulness and cool cars pushed me over the edge to becoming a fully paid pledged member👍👌
  7. Thank you. Hopefully some of the documented original pics I will be/am posting here will help everyone with there future Monte Carlo restoration endeavors. I used to live in Ocala, great place!
  8. Here’s a few more pics showing originality: (2) pics of load leveling system mounted on driver side fender well, and a couple pics of original clamps still installed:
  9. Thanks Rob, I plan on becoming a paid member hopefully by weekends end. Thx for the invite, much appreciated👍
  10. Just got the turbo 400 tranny out, here is a pick of the original girl (71 454SS) 02A build date:
  11. Welcome from South Florida! I’m a new member as well and I have to tell you this site is excellent, members have been very helpful to me, and site is full of information. Your car looks great!
  12. Also, I’m going to Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach the end of March, I’ll look around for a 71SS 454 and maybe I can get a picture of another trim tag or two. Can’t hurt.
