  1. And a whole new vocabulary the wife won't let you use in public.
  2. Ever since I got Montelishi back from the painters,(last year) the dome light didn't work. The console and other lights do but not the dome. (in any mode) I replaced the bulb, fixture, and traced the wires.... but no luck. Six months ago I switched my dash lights to LEDs, and was happy to have the visibility improved. Anyways, a couple weeks ago, the "inst lts" fuse blew, and I replaced it with one of a slightly higher amperage. Everything was fine. AND..... The dome light worked.... ???? Last week, the dome light stopped working again....... (scratch head) I needed to run the in the dark the other day, and when I turned the lights on, the dash lights blew another fuse. Got me thinking I need to go to a higher amp'd fuse for the LEDs. But when I got home, and opened the door, the dome light is working again... (more head scratching) I've looked at the wiring, which appears O.K., but now I'm thinking it might be the light switch itself...... Any ideas ????
  3. The jack that came with my car, and the one listed by Parts Place for '70 Monte Carlos is the second one.
  4. All first year run cars have that issue.... It's all new to the guys on the line and the parts don't look anything like the pictures. lol
  5. Really ???? WOW, I've never seen it that way. Must be from a mirror universe ??? lol
  6. Had a similar issue, turned out being the terminal posts...... A little tap with a hammer to twist them and everything was back to normal.
  7. Different parts, yes, but the etching will be the same on all the windows. On the inside, views from outside. The side window was just easier to photograph.
  8. Hey Bob, Personally, I like the results of switching to the 200R4 transmission. It's pretty much a bolt in, and the overdrive works great on the highway. Just make sure you get it rebuilt one that's had all the heavy duty internals installed. Scott.
  9. Crystal clear ???? lol Yes, it bows in..... NOT bubble out.
  10. This is how it's supposed to look.....(rear side window). I think your's is in backwards.
  11. I've been looking for the same thing for a while now as well, Parts Place and OPGI only sell them in sets, but you might try Jared, (Mega parts sale) to see if he has any left. Best of luck.
  12. The etching should be readable from the exterior of the car...... Does the window look dished in, or does it bubble outwards ???
  13. Hey Aaron, have you looked on Amazon ? They were carrying a few AMT kits the last time I looked...
  14. It does help with the handling at high speeds as well..... Keeps the front end from "floating".
  15. Mine started in the summer of '80. The first car I ever got to drive was my aunt's burgundy '70 Monte Carlo. It was a base model that had seen it's share of usage, but it was still a thrill. When she got married, she decided to sell it, and I wanted to buy it more than anything else. But my Dad said "No", citing insurance rates for a teenager would be insane. And, sadly, he had a good point. It wasn't until after he passed that I finally got serious about finding one, figured my insurance rates might be a little better by now.... lol. I've owned several "A/G" bodies over the years.... But this one was my first one.
  16. P.S. I don't remember if your car is air conditioned, but removing the fast idle solenoid will effect it if you do have it.
  17. The temp. sender doesn't have much to do with emissions.... But it does operate the gauge/warning light, so don't mess with that. I believe the only other thing you can safely remove is the charcoal canister and hoses, remember to plug everything off . As for the fast idle solenoid, I'm not sure.... It's been a long time since I played with a Q-jet. You are planning an "open element" air filter when you switch to header exhaust, yes ?
  18. Montelishi came with the heavy rubber Chevrolet logo mats.... They work pretty good.
  19. Yes... I get an error message on the occasional picture too.
  20. The little panel/indicator looks like an aftermarket piece, but it's got a factory hole for installation.... lol And the high tech fiber optic connection reminds me of those little "trees" they had in the '70's where just the tips lit up.
  21. I did something similar to what you're looking to do. Simply took a connector box and linked one side to the leads in the main fuse box, (4 to batt., 4 to Ign.) and mounted it on the firewall below the box. That way I can link fused wires to which ever supply I need.
  22. Any parts shop should have what you're looking for. Just keep in mind that American pipe threads are tapered, whereas British are not. No amount of sealant can solve that problem......
  23. Are you looking to add an actual fuse block, or just a multi point power distribution hub ?
  24. I don't know that I would use it as a lifting point as the thread isn't that big or deep.
