Once they find out you're OK then it becomes hilarious.

Had it done at Craft Customs out of Texas. takes about 3 weeks to get done. A bit spendy but the craftsmanship is first rate.

It will fit and it can be our little secret (not many people outside clubs like this one would know it)

I put my dash pad in my 70 today and i do not like the way it fits over the dash speakers. They are aftermarket 3x5 ish and set way to high and the drivers side i had to leave the dash out a little because the magnet pinches against the gauge cluster. ( i remember it was like this when i tore it apart and i half wondered why) so you can see the dash pad thru the windshield doesn't fit right. Thinking about eliminating these and putting in new kick panels with speakers in them. Any suggestions, problems, tips? it is a factory AC car.
I had to put in kick panel speakers after I installed the Dakota Dash as the driver side speaker wouldn't fit anymore. I am thinking of finding some dome tweeters as the sound from the kick panels is good but I miss the sound from the top of the dash

Held mine down with strong double sided tape. I also have the compass/outside temp module (my steering wheel is hiding the display in the photo). you're right after tying up the wires there isn't much room for it to move if the tape gave out.
actually mine is on top of the glove box not on the door. I'd have to remove the dash top to access it.

Yep, that was the most convenient spot. I ran a 10-24 machine screw up through the glove box top to hold it in place, though I don't think the wires will let it move much!
I did end up needing a new gauge carrier, the old one had one crack that I noticed when I did led bulbs. It was so brittle the screw holes crumbled as I removed them! Fortunately NPD in Ocala has them in stock, 3 hour round trip and I was home with the new part.
Spent a lot of time reading the manual, verifying and re-verifying the wiring, along with cleaning up some previously installed wiring form an older radio. Only had to make one call to Daytona Digital to figure out how to get the readings I wanted to show in the tach LCD display. Everything else programmed and works as it should!
I'll get a pic of the new thermostat housing that shows the clearance of the temp sensor at tomorrow's car show.

Any suggestions on a good company to ship my Monte to the lower 48? I'd like it to be enclosed since it would be coming from Alaska sometime in the next year. My target move is somewhere in Virginia. Probably need a place to store it as well until I arrive.

I don't have a schematic and was wondering if anyone knew where the lighter ground was terminated at. The center lead reads 12 volts to ground but the negitive lead shows open when I ohm it out. I'd want to tear as little apart as possible to repair this. Any clues?

I installed a Retro Sound unit in my 72. I have the mic in the upper left corner of the windshield and ran the cable up the A pillar. I do have a bit of a noise problem with the window down but in Alaska that's a rare occurrence.

Looking good, when is bed time in Alaska? I have a highschool friend that lives up there. Winter's seem a little too long to me.
First snow usually flies around the 1st-2nd week of Oct. and hangs around until April. not much for a show season. About 75% of this season was rain soaked. I'll probably be looking to relocate to the east coast after next year when I retire (if interest rates cooperate).
