All, It’s been a journey to say the least when it comes to my 72 Monte…so I took it to a mechanic because the power steering pump needed replacement…got a call yesterday that there is a “bigger problem,” the car wouldn’t go into any gear when then mechanic tried to take it out garage. His words,” it does not click” and hold into any gear. I know it could me a variety of things, but where should he start to diagnose the problem? It’s a TH350. Thanks,

Another post because of another long day w/out answers and continued confusion. A few weeks ago my gas pedal was “limp” and I popped the hood and my neighbor showed me an accelerator cable I believe which wasn’t attached properly. Took to a mechanic and he replaced with a new one. This morning, I started my car and once again the RPMs shot up and wouldn’t settle. Then I noticed the cable wouldn’t come back it was stuck forward. Took back to mechanic and he said “don’t know what to do.” Took to another mechanic, same reaction. While driving home i Put my foot on the gas and once again the RPMs shot up and I immediately hit brakes turned car off and once again popped hood and that cable was stuck forward. At this point, I can’t find anyone to fix and not sure what to do next but driving the car isn’t an option. suggestions??

I woke up this morning pumped the gas pedal a few times and when the engine started…it revs loud and the RPMs go really high as if I were pushing my foot on gas but I’m not. Not sure if I pumped the pedal too much and something triggered it. The gas pedal is in normal position. Didn’t want to put the car in gear because I wasn’t sure if it would accelerate like it sounded. I’m not a car expert so i apologize if i sound ignorant this is all new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It’s definitely water based but does have a little slickness to it…no real smell…looks like vegetable oil but no where near as sticky

Usually, my fluid leaks only occur a few hours after I’m done driving…the fluid towards the from is reddish, the middle is clear/yellow. Trying to upload photos but there all too large IMG_3176.mov

All, I’ve had my 72 for 2 years, I’ve spent almost 8K on various items and now I come out to my car leaking some kind of fluid from the center along with leaks towards the front…every time I take it to a mechanic, miraculously it doesn’t leak but when I pull in the garage leaking everywhere. I’m near Columbia SC if anyone has a solid mechanic. At this point, I’m not going to be able to keep the car if I cannot get it fixed. Any recommendations/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Richard

Sir/Ma’am, Happy Veteran’s Day!!!Spending my Veteran’s Day with my 72 Monte I’ve neglected a bit since I’ve gotten it (almost two years ago), anyone have any insight on how to fix my interior light switch, it’s so lose it just pushes into entire dash…most times I can’t turn my lights on because it’s too difficult to turn them off because the entire knob goes into dash
