  1. it is my car and perfect she is not, 37 is just a starting ask to keep tire kickers away. and yes i did ask!
  2. i know the car started as a 350 the 454 was added later
  3. none taken, i guess i did not expect to spend as much as i have. first guy that looked at it was stuck on fuel wanted to rebuild the carb at 4-500 and i still would have had the same problem. i appreciate the invite but am selling the monte and moving on. guess me and old cars were not meant to be!!
  4. no, both thought it was fuel related, after digging the 2nd found and fixed the issue. i always try to stay positive and not judge people i dont know
  5. update it was a cracked distributor and split rotor runs perfect now up for sale! thanks for the help!
  6. try google "classic car mechanic near me" go thru all reviews, look for car shows near you go there and ask the car owners where they go. i had the same issue as you and the same year car 8k later shes all fixed but more than i wanted to spend. there are plenty of great (and smart) people on this site that can and will help you. i dont know how much or how far you want to go with this but always ask questions, all the items on your list are fixable but you must find a person that only works on classic cars.good luck, keep posting updates!!
  7. thank you for the responses, fuel line was laying directly on the manifold that was fixed, vacuum line was left off carb, that was fixed better but still missing a bit when floored, distributor is next , then maybe new spark plug wires we shall see!
