  1. Congratulations to all the winners on those well deserved awards! And a big shout out to Jared and Ron for making this a great event👍They even made sure the weather was perfect 😜 I had a fantastic time looking at all the beautiful cars and talking to the owners. Hope to see everyone at next year’s Meet 😎

  3. Great story, Rob! If it was twice as long, then it would’ve been twice as interesting lol Some of the best music ever without a doubt and it’s a miracle anybody survived that plane crash
  4. Thanks for the kind words everyone! Again, I am looking forward to the meet at Somerset and will make a point to chat with everyone 😊
  5. Hi everyone! Mark here from Southwest Indiana. Thanks for allowing me to join the club. I am semi retired, and my Monte Carlo was my very first car and here is my story…I bought my 71 Monte Carlo sight unseen right before I had my license in June of 1977. I could not find a car that I liked in my hometown area. My grandpa was a car dealer four hours away and on memorial day weekend my mom and dad went to visit while I stayed back and worked. I told them I was desperate for a car and to see what grandpa had and the only requirements were that it had to have two doors and two headlights. They came back home and said the only thing he had was a family car and not a sports car. I asked what color it was and they said blue, which is my favorite color so I called my grandpa and told him I wanted it. Since I only had my drivers permit at this point, I took a Greyhound bus through every small town on the way there which took three times as long, and then drove it back home the next day with my grandma along. I worked at a tire store on the main drag in town, so right away I put Keystone mags on it and along with a fresh coat of original Mulsanne blue paint it suddenly became the car of the town. As far as I know, I was the first kid in the tri-county area to have a Monte Carlo and within a few months there were a handful of others driving around which of course I was jealous at the time, but looking back I guess I set the trend in the area because within a year or so there were more than a dozen kids, including 5 of my classmates, driving Monte Carlos. Other than my younger brother owning it from about 1986 to 1990, It’s been in my possession. Of course we both had some fender benders, but overall it’s mostly original, with the motor (350-2bb) and tranny being untouched. It’s an in town driver only, so it won’t be making the trip to Somerset in May, but I am looking forward to being there to meet all attendees and drool over their cars!
