  1. Anyone have a F41 suspension take off for sale that they replaced with an after market suspension. The 70 MC i purchased has newer coil springs in the back and I don't think they are the correct ones. I had my front end guy (68 years old) check them out and he agreed they were almost new and that the car wallowed when he took it for a test drive. FYI I am in SE Iowa. TIA Dave Hazen
  2. Hi All, I am looking for a Complete Ashtray assembly for 70 Monte. Prefer green if available. Thanks Dave Hazen Sperry, Iowa 52650
  3. I just purchased a 1970 Monte Carlo (BBC). I did not think it rides properly, too much sway like a boat. I took it to my alignment guy, 50 years in business. He said front end was fine except idle arm was a little loose, (he said probably still in GM spec) but he would recommend replacing it. Rear end shocks looked new (no rust on mounting bolts or shocks) but he recommended new HD shocks and adding a rear anti-sway bar. He said it was an option that year. He said he used to install them but didn't any more and therefore did not know where to get one. I asked if I got one would he install it. He said yes. I am too old for hot rodding (70) just want a more solid ride. What do you recommend. Thanks David Hazen
  4. Hi all, Thank you for adding me as a member about a month ago. I joined the site looking for a First Generation Monte Carlo. I am happy to say I found a great car. It is not a show car but a great car for weekend drives, going for ice cream on a hot summer day or just a cruise through the park. I am attaching a photo of the 70 Monte I picked up last week.
  5. Hi Frank, I am interested in your Monte. Email any additional photos to impalass53@gmail.com. Any other information you have such as build sheet etc would be appreciated. Thanks Dave Hazen impalass53@gmail.com
  6. Could a 1972 have been ordered with bucket seats but no center console? Or did this car come with a bench seat and they took it our an put in the buckets? am considering a 1972 Monte. See photo's. As always TIA!!

    Long Shot!!

I only had the car for a few years, back then I was buying/trading cars yearly. I did not realize that the air ride was part of the option. Cool! Thanks for the info. Dave

    Long Shot!!

I didn't know if GM/Chevrolet had perhaps sold a list of the VINs and corresponding to options/RPOs to anyone/company. As you said if I had the VIN and have police friends (which I do) they could do a records search. I was hoping for a reverse records search using the features of the car. Color, engine, tranny, air ride, etc to find the VIN of the vehicle. I am pretty sure that info is out there somewhere, the issue is finding who has it. Thanks for the reply.

    Long Shot!!

This is a total long shot. I had a 1970 Monte Carlo SS back in middle 70s. It had the 454 and Turbo 400 automatic in it. It was a Burgundy Color with a Black Vinyl top. It had a crème colored cloth interior with a bench seat in the front. It also had the factory air lift in the back. You wouldn't believe the story about the air lift. Any way I bought it used and resold it a few years later. Is there any way with knowing this much information to track down the VIN and then in turn track down the current location. That is assuming it hasn't been destroyed. I am from SE Iowa. I licensed it in Des Moines county and the previous owner had it registered in Henry County. Thanks for the help!!
