  1. my monte had a small block in it and it has a 12 bolt. the el camino im workin on is a small block car with a 12 bolt in it as well.
  2. does anyone have the loc of the ss454 name plates? does it sit in the center of the rocker trim or towards the front wheel or more to the doors.
  3. puttin soft seal on my got a kit from chevelle.com i believe thats they web site. even came with the rubber bumpers, window felt inside and outside. for around $230
  4. i got 16x7 with 4" back spacin on the front of my monte and they dont rub have 255/50 on the front. the back is 16x8 with 4.5" backspacin with the same 255/50 tire.
  5. did u put the lines in right? i dont remember if the tran fuild goes to the cooler before it goes in the raditor. i had the same problem with mine and the people at bowtie overdrive told me how is should be.
  6. i have a 700r4 in my monte got it from bowtie overdrive in cal. can handel up to 450hp bolt right in place. used a turbo 350 drive shaft yoke along with the driveshaft it so. with the way gas prices r goin up overdrive is the way to go just my 2 cents and i want my change back.
  7. i dont know what type of trouble he is havin i keep my stock shifter when i droped a 700r4 in my. they make a kit to show all the gears.
  8. try trunin the lower steerin clomun my is the same way. if that dont work put some grafrite down it and it will free it up.
  9. could i run that intake with a crab then stwich over to fuel injection? or would it be cheaper in the long run to go away with fuel injection. the rest of my setup is a 700r4 trans with a 2;73 rear. they 700r4 is set up for the 2;73 rear.also is there a thiner gasket on the market so i wont have to get the intake shaved. the first didnt cost me a thing since track auto took care of the problem. im planin on build a 383 tpi motor for a 57 nomad any ideas on a good kit and heads. the motor is a 4 bolt main ive got the tpi top and bottom with injecters got a painless wirin harness and a computer for a 91 vette.
  10. don i got a question on a intake i have a 402 bored .40 over stock my current intake had to be shave the thickness of a stock intake gasket. im lookin at the accel pro ram intake ACC-74202E any idea on how well it will work on a mild street motor.the current intake is a edelbrock dual plane with a q-jet on it.
  11. the 700r4 that bowtie overdrive sales have a lock up swtich plus the brakelight swtich to control it. the linkage for a 700r4 is just like the th350. if u do go with a trans cooler 700r4.com wants the fuild to run though the radtior then to the cooler and back to the trans.each kit they build has a shift kit and extar clutch packs in them the dipstick come with the trans.
  12. go to 700r4.com also knew as bowtie overdrive them make a good trans. i have two of they stage two tans which handles up to 550hp. u cand use the same flex plate as the 400 ull move the crossmenber back in the frame. the one in my monte i moved to the back holes in my frame and used a 350 drive shaft. most of the 700r4 on the market is a lockup unit.if i remember right i believe a 700r4 from bowtie overdrive is 1500 and thats with a 2200 stall.
  13. i run b&m trick shift synthetic in my 700r-4. brake fuild is also synthetic. its suppsoed to last longer then reguarl fuild so they say.

    the 350 drive shafts we used were from montes, and we didnt get them cut down.

    from what the drive shaft shop said when the u-joints were put in the 350 yoke is a lot strong then the 700 yoke the 350 yoke will fit.

    dave we have 2 700r4 trans from bowtie overdrive one in the monte and the other in the nomad. the one in the monte we moved the cross menber back in the frame and used a 350 driveshaft which is the right lenght.

  19. yes they were called stero and mono radios. mono mean one center speaker in the front. stero meanin two in the front and one or two in the back deck.
  20. hey guys sorry for the delay on the front speakers this is the passager side speaker. here is the driver side speakers. they r jbl g.t.o brand speakers
  21. evening guys like 1badmc said the back speakers mount under the rear deck. i have change the loc. of my speakers instead of them bein mounted to the rear deck as seen in this pic big jim as far as ur question on the front speakers i used 4x6 in the stock openin and had no problem if u would like i can get u a pic of the fit for u?

  24. bus is the trans sit up for the 3:31 gears? i have a 408 big block with a 700r4 in and 2:73. if the trans aint sit up for the rear gears it will seen different compare to the 350. i had a truck trans(400) put a shift kit in it and u couldnt feel it shift any.
