  1. Keep me posted. If they're still making them I would be interested in one as well.
  2. My first Monte would go 12.4 on pump gas, NA, and full weight, and I never finished tuning the carb probably could have got a little more out of it. I had a 383 stroker motor. It was about 15 years ago so I don't think I still have the receipts or build, but it computer dyno'd about 425 hp and 500fp.
  3. That's the problem with having Quals and license in the military lol. Hot commodity.
  4. I never had any luck with V-belts. My 383 stroker would toss everyone one of them once i hit 10k.
  5. The pistons will be fine with your current application. But, can you guarantee that you wont get the power bug when you're finished and want to add a little more? Personally I'd go with forged and save yourself time and money in the future if you want to give it a little more umpf later. However, if you're certain that's all you will ever want they will do just fine.
  6. Can anyone recommend a blasting/poweder coating shop in Illinois? Prefer the South Chicago area, but open to suggestions if the price/quality is right.
  7. My first 70 I built a 383 with 500 HP and it was fine on the street. I mean it was loud and gas mileage was god awful, but I never once thought that it was too "bad mannered". And man that thing could spin. It would throw the belts when it went over 10k lol
  8. There should be a code stamped on the transmission. TH350 (1972 and earlier)= on the upper flange of the transmission housing converter opening TH350 (1973 and later) = on the right vertical surface of the oil pan If you find it, go here to decode it Linky Thingy
  9. I'm seriously contemplating throwing some sidepipes on mine. I just think they're cool.
  10. Bolt on is much easier, and there's really no reason to not bolt it on. Unless you just really feel like welding it.
  11. That's a shame they're coming from overseas though. Not that I wont order one now, but it definitely puts a damper on it. Not like anyone stateside is making a billet grille though.
  12. HAHA no joke about the chinese food being made better in America. I love Japanese food, but came here to Japan and it's ok, but I'd rather have my American Japanese food, oh and Korean BBQ is better here in Japan than it is in Korea. LOL funny how that works.
  13. Customs Clearance? Are these coming from overseas? haha, no that's the Techno Viking.

IMO to all who see drag time, street or strip, I don't care what NHRA rules say or if you race anywhere that NHRA can't touch you. Even if you just like to get on it in the streets every now and then. GET A DRIVESHAFT LOOP. They are cheap easy to install and truly are a SAFETY feature. Some of the things seem like they're just hoops to jump through to run down the track on TNT days, but really the driveshaft loop can save serious damage to you or your vehicle.
  15. Starting to sound a bit wishy washy, I hope this pans out. Was really planning on ordering one.
  16. I don't think the packet will have the information you're looking for. I know Canadian made cars have a lot more information available, but the US plants didn't keep track of much. So if your car was made at the Canada plant you're in luck if not...
  17. I don't believe the VIN is on the trans all you can do is check the codes and verify that it's the correct trans for your year and engine.
  18. Yeah I'll be buying a prosystems carb in the next year or so, we should really work out a club discount if we haven't. We bring lots of business apparently lol.
  19. My land speed record is in my 2002 Trans AM WS6 at 165 and it handled like a dream.
  20. Randy Travis sang it best "I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, It's what you leave behind you when you go." It's very apparrent that Robyn left behind an amazing family and some beautiful children to carry on his good spirit. As well as very fond memories and a spirit of fun, caring, and unselfishness that he gave this club. Your life will be celebrated by all who knew you Robyn and rest in peace knowing that you have touched so many people and that you have made an everlasting impact on this world. To Robyn's family, it was easy to see that you were his pride and joy and that he couldn't wait to share the warmth and amazement that you brought to his life. Even with perfect strangers that he met on this board. I wish you all the best in these trying times. He will be with you always and forever.
  21. I'm a speed freak with no fear. If anyone wants to find out how fast their car goes I can help!
  22. I'm not certain but I think I remember, someone saying you had to shove something into the column to lock it?
  23. Depends on what you mean by no reverse. Does the transmission just slip when it's in reverse, or you cannot get reverse to engage at all? If you cannot get it to engage, I'd say something is still wrong with your linkage. If it's slipping time for a rebuild.
  24. Pontiac, Olds, and Buick made a 455. So it's very possible he did buy a 455. If it is it will most likely make parts harder/more expensive because they are different from a 454, and the 455s are even different amongst themselves.
