  1. Hey guys my th350 lost 2nd and 3rd so I picked up a rebuilt th400. The th400 looks to be about an inch and a half longer than the 350, so I'm guessing the driveshaft has to be cut about a inch and a half. And I know the yoke has to be changed for the th400. Is there anything else that has to be done?

I just put in a eaton locking differential in my car yesterday, the hardest part was getting the new bearing races in the housing, and finding the right torque specs for the pinion nut. all in all it took around 5 hours of working slow. If you get an eaton unit you have to get the matching ring and pinion for it or else it wont fit. I think the series 3 differential fits 373 and down, and the series 4 fits 410 and up.
  3. I want my car to be a street strip car, I hated the stock 256 gears, I wanted to go with the 373s cause I heard they are perfect for the street and track once in a while. But when I was in boot camp my dad put the 410s in. I'm about to order the 410 series 4 ring and pinion off of jegs now ill let you guys know how it goes when I put them in.
  4. I ran the numbers on the top of the unit it is a series 4. So I'm going to have to get a series 4 ring and pinion. There was nothing wrong with the old unit I just dont like the full limited slip. The ring gear I was trying to use was a 410 for the stock unit that came with the car.
  5. hey guys I'm finally putting in the posi unit I got to replace the stock limited slip unit. The new unit is a eaton differential. I had put a 410 ring and pinion on the old limited slip differential and wanted to put it on the new one, but now the ring gear on the new unit is to much toward the passenger side of the housing. My machinist told me for new eaton differential I would have to change the ring gear but the gear shop where I bought the new unit said I didnt.
  6. Sometimes you can go into processes and if you find a virus running stop it but its prob in your registry someplace best option is to re format. I had a bad virus on my PC about 3 months ago I could run task manager or even open the cmd prompt.
  7. hey I found a top corner of my build sheet and the engine says KD-8 I think this would be a 350 4 barrel ? the axle says KD. witch I know is a 2.73
