  1. Nice times and great video! Thanks for posting
  2. I've made posts in the past of videos from photobucket, but when you click on it, it'll take you to the Photobucket site. I've never posted anything from YT before but I've seen posts where it will take you through the same process as I described, but sometimes a member will make a post and the video will just play in the post that was made instead of taking you to their site. (Hopefully that doesn't sound too confusing) So I guess what I'm asking is; how do I post a direct link to YouTube?
  3. That is a really good picture of the Chevelle! Looks like a magazine cover or something... or maybe a nice framed picture for the mantle!

Use the link on photobucket that says img., trying to think what else might be the problem... And try and resize the pics to medium size. Big pictures take a long time to load, and some might have trouble getting them to open. Hope that works, good luck
  5. Alright, I gotcha Jared, I guess sacrificing the armrests isn't really that bad.
  6. Hmmm... interesting... I never even thought about the armrest clearance. I wonder if the swingout down bars would clear them? You say to make sure that it passes at other tracks; what size tubing did you use? Would tech inspections be that different from place to place?
  7. Awesome Jared, Thats really gonna stiffen the car up! More burnt rice, please sir! hehehehe....
  8. Those extra 18 mph are gonna feel like 50! Good luck with the build. Thats definitely going to be a "Monte Sound Clip" I look forward to hearing!
  9. Thats too bad Allan... whatever happened to good ole' craftsmanship, even if your not making a million bucks of the project? I guess thats out the window just like everything else, right? I met a guy a few years back and same difference; he was ready to rock, so I brought the grille up to his shop and then he was like "Well... we could do it but grilles are really fragile, and I wouldn't want to mess it up. It's going to cost a bunch." All I could think was "Well what the H*ll do you think most grilles are made out of I-beams?"
  10. Are they going to produce a grille that fits the '72 as well?
  11. It usually doesn't get that cold down here during drag season but, you can also run an "electric blanket" or hot water bottles. I know, I know... thats a poor mans bottle warmer, but some of those bottle heaters cost some bucks!
  12. Looks good! I guess I'm going to have to redo mine now.
  13. Cool! Good job again Dave! I have to see about getting me one of those.
  14. Well you were done with yours way before mine so if yours is the Rice Burner, then mines gonna be called the Honda Hater...
  15. Hmmm... looks like mine will end up being about 3500 lbs then... And oh yeah, those are some really good times Mike. Good job! You gonna end up caging the car?
  16. I can't get the picture to come up.
  17. RAWK ON!!! Not too fond of yellow but that car looks mean! Looks like a 72? But of course all the really cool cars are 72's...
  18. I don't know how the heck I missed this...? Anyways; great times and some cool video! Thanks for posting
  19. Okay fellas, well I was finally able to take some time and download some pics. Here is a few of an early "HD" case or better know as the th-400 "k" case. Like I said it's a little thicker, has a flywheel/starter cover thats made of the same aluminum/magnesium as the case. (Not just the regular stamped steel flywheel dust cover) As mentioned this is an early model case so it's stamped with 26 on top the later cases (I think he said 1980 and on) have the HD stamp. Otherwise it's identical to the regular 400. In some of the pics you can see the extra six bolt holes that run down the underside of the bell housing to attach the cover; on the underside of the cover you can see the two dogears. These two bolt hole locations are for two thick steel rods that attach to the cover and down the sides of the motor to the frame mounts. The rods which have plates on the end of them sandwich inbetween the framemounts and the motormounts. All they are for is to triangulate the drivetrain so you don't flex and break the bellhousing. Most likely I won't be able to utilize these bolt holes because a cars crossmember is in a different position than trucks are. Like I said maybe I'm looking into this a little too hard but I figure if anything the case is a thicker, so "in theory" it should be a little stronger. And I like how the case has the cover which encloses the flywheel, starter bendix, and torque converter.
  20. Really nice pics Capri! Thanks for putting them up.
  21. Nice!!! Thanks for all the photos Jake, I really gotta make one of these Meets one of these days. Good looking cars, and it really looks like everyone had a great time!
  22. Wow I really got catch up on checking out all the pics! Thanks Jake.
  23. I'm not a professional car restorer by any means but think about what you want out of the car (show car, daily driver, musclecar) and trying to do things yourself is always a good way to try and save money for more expensive paint or something for your motor. If your wanting a nice reliable car you wouldn't have to worry about going all crazy with the drivetrain and could focus on getting some really nice (and expensive) quality body and paint done. And same in vice aversa (sp?). Even if you plan on doing little to the motor or suspension a makeover is still going to cost a fair amount of money... thats why mines still not done...
  24. I second that! Thats a great picture
