  1. Wow - a 26x10 fits under there - did you roll the lips? So I found a pic of a 70 Chevelle with a 295/50 on a 15x8 wheel. I'm thinking there's too much of a bulge, no? Not sure if I'm diggin' it, especially for a daily driver. Looks like a 255/60 may be the way to go unless I can find a 275/55 - not sure who makes one though. Thoughts?
  2. I bit the bullet and ordered up a set of wheels. I went with Wheel Vintiques Rally wheels w/ shorty disc brake center caps and trim rings all around. Front = 15x7 w/ 4.25 Backspace Rear = 15x8 w/ 5" Backspace The plan now is to order some BFG Radial T/As. Now, I plan on running a 245/60/15 on the front, but I'm going back and fourth on the rears. My initial plan was to run a 255/60/15 (which I may still go with) which would give me a 27" tall tire height (fronts would be 26.6"). I looked into a 275/6015 but I don't want a 28" tall tire in the rear. Then I got to playing with the calculators. Apparently I can 295/50/15 is exactly the 26.6", the same as the front. However I'm not sure that even with a 15x8 wheel with 5" backspacing it will fit. The fender lips are not rolled and I'm not going to roll them. So, with that being said, will a 295/50/15 fit on an 15x8 wheel without having a ridiculous looking bulge and more importantly, will it fit under the car with a 5" BS and not rub anywhere. OR Should I go with my original plan and put a 255/60/15 on the rear which will still give me a staggered look and be safe. This car is going to be driven A LOT so I don't want to have any issues with rubbing as I may actually lower the car an 1" or 2" in the future. Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks - Mike
  3. Man. It seems like almost every car is different when you start moving up in sizes. Hmm. I'll see if I can get them with a 4.5"-5" bs for the 8" rears. Thanks so much for the responses guys. Definitely helps.
  4. Hi guys - New poster. I just purchased a very clean 1970 Monte Carlo base car. Bench seat, A/C, 350/350 combo. The car is 100% stock aside from the wheels which the previous owner is keeping. The fender lips are stock and have never been rolled. I looked through the entire wheel and tire thread but didn't seem to find the info I was looking for. I was thinking about purchasing the following rally wheel package from OPGI - 15x7 front / 15x8 rear - a kit they say fits the 1970 Monte. https://www.opgi.com/monte-carlo/1970/wheels-accessories/wheels/RWS155/ Both wheels (front and back) have a 4-1/4" backspacing. So I have 3 questions here: 1. Anyone running this combo and if so, does everything fit as it should. 2. Tire sizes: I'd like to run a 245/60/15 BFG Radial T/A up front and a 255/60/15 rear 3. With the sizes stated, should I be worried about anything rubbing Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Mike
