  1. While perusing the Internet I came across an Ad offering a 72 Monte Carlo. While looking over pic's, I noticed there was no radio and was covered with a Delete Plate? Never seen one before! Was this a factory option? Doug
  2. Do a search for Cal Cover and Cover King. Both are top line Covers that you can select the one you want for that application. I have a Cover King Indoor on mine. Both are made to resist scratching/swirling................ Doug
  3. Love the color, especially in the Sun lite. Very well represented 1st Gen. & Welcome to Our Madness. Doug
  4. Latest update, Rev. 16. Please review and advise if updates needed.1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 11.0 JPG.xls
  5. I have used it on my Frame and applies well with the Frame clean. Only drawback I see is when I end up getting more on me than the vehicle . Also, POR 15 does not work well when in sunlight as the UV rays attack it. When I replaced my rear bumper, I painted the backside of the Bumper everywhere right up to the chrome and after 7/8 years, it is still as nice as when I installed it. Also, due to cost, you should purchase small cans as it goes a long long way and when done, sealing that Can back up is impossible and the contents will dry out if left sitting for to long. I've used cellophane
  6. There are several separate Bulbs behind the Instrument Cluster Gauges. Each one luminates separate from the other but work thru your Headlight Switch and also the Circuit Board Ribbon has that current needed flowing thru it. Likely in your Headlight Switch and I would start there myself (if all Instrument cluster lights are showing dead) with headlight switch on. I am assuming you have Power otherwise? Good Luck................. I'm a betting man and am sure others have their suggestions that will chime in............ Doug
  7. I always figured they were either installed with all 3 or none. I had none in my 72, but when I had the Dash off, I went ahead and installed them with shut offs. A little added chrome and made it appear a little busier in the Cabin. I liked that................... Doug
  8. Anyone seen this Ad for a 71 SS? Other than the Price , did anyone notice the A/C center vent in Dash has the manual shut off, but the Side Dash Vents don't! Did they mix and match or is this not original? I know 1970 had them and at least some 71's. Just curious ..................... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Chevrolet-Monte-Carlo-SS-454/264591438598?_trkparms=aid%3D888008%26algo%3DDISC.CARDS%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200220090753%26meid%3D91ec94bfb8ad4d96b3a1544c8cee56a7%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D284044719888%26itm%3D264591438598%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3
  9. Thanx Dave. Will make those adjustments and thanx again for noticing. Doug
  10. Thanx for the Heads Up Anthony. I will get right on that and thanx again for noticing. Unsure why I was so far off on it, Doug
  11. 1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 11.0 JPG.xlsNew update on Custom Numbers. Gotta couple more added and is Rev. 15, dated 10/11/2020. Still incomplete info on a car or two but overall what has been identified. Please review your info and advise if needed amended. Again appreciate your willingness to offer up the info. Doug
  12. Hey Darren,

Interested in adding your 72 Custom onto my Data Base.  Any chance I can have your Vin# and if Build Sheet?  I have added the info you provided in your Post but would like to have these 2 things as well.

By the way, earlier on shortly after I started compiling this info, you gave me a heads up on a 72 Custom you knew about.  Would this be that same vehicle as I don't want to duplicate any of them, thus my r3equest for the VIN#.  I think you described that one as a Midnight Bronze, 402 TH400 car and did not have near the options of this one.

Appreciate your reply and trust you are doing as well as can be expected.  You Take Care............

    Doug

  13. Gorgeous Darren! How do you find them . Is the Passenger Sport Mirror Factory? I'm guessing it is. How about providing via (PM) Me your Cars VIN#, adding it to my Data Base? Haven't heard much from you & hoping your Health Issues have stabilized for you. Stay Strong and keep those Finds of your coming Doug
  14. Try following the wiring from the Source to their respective connections and verify. I am assuming it is a Factory Tach Dash with the Temp & Fuel gauges over/under on Dash? They worked before Engine work tells me they are not connected properly or is one heck of a coincidence. That's my take and Good Luck................. Doug
  15. Checked Stock Nationally on the Wheel Vintiques and 3 to 6 month back order. Jegs gave me an option of US Wheel! Also made in US but unfamiliar with quality and precision. Don't want to wait forever and if reviews look encouraging, I may go with them. Anyone have any remarks that may have mounted these Rims in the past? Appreciate your thoughts............................ Doug
  16. Hi Joe. Interested in adding your 72 Custom Project to my data base. Can I get your VIN# to compare against my info? If I don't have it, can I add to data base? Looking to determine about how many on the road and or serviceable. Appreciate your help................... Doug
  17. Looks like the 30 Series Wheel Vintiques is the one I am after. Appears to be the only one that fits my specs I am looking for in a Chevy Rally Wheel. I like that they are Powder Coated already. Also, will these support a 15"X3" deep Beauty Ring? Thanx for the info Guys. Doug
  18. Looking to buy 4 Rally Wheels of 15"X8"X5 on 4.75 Bolt Pattern and a 5" Back Spacing. Looking at these Vision Wheels, I am wondering how well the Derby Caps hold on? Does anyone have any suggestions? I have read on Visions web site most center caps hold firm but not all. Have any of these Derby Caps come loose and lost from this problem? I would prefer GM OEM but hard to come across locally and also Spec's need to fall in line. Appreciate your thought............ Doug
  19. I also have a Nice 72 Monte Core Support if still looking. It has been bead blasted and POR 15 coated & stored inside from weather. It is a A/C Support & comes with the Condenser & Core Support wiring harness. I would take $150.00 and include upper valance, brackets etc. Pictures if your interested. I am in Portland, Oregon. Doug
  20. Welcome to the Club Chris. Looks like you will some fun this Summer.................. Doug
  21. I would select the 2nd option Tom. Attempting to gather all those options for #1 would be a nightmare. Of course without seeing both vehicles, I'm basing my thoughts on both being comparable to each other otherwise. If option #2 has all the options that #1 doesn't, vehicle #2 is more valuable as it sits now. Paint probably your biggest expense and only dependent on how much you are willing to spend. While a good job on the exterior metal repair is very helpful, if vehicle #2 is free from metal repair/bondo, again your best choice in my opinion. Actually, I don't think I would require
  22. I had a similar issue with my car several years ago where my fuel gauge would peg out, especially if been sitting for a spell. The issue was corrosion on the fuel sending unit and my fix fortunately was driving the car. Each Winter during storage fuel gauge would max out and each time I would have to pull out car, rocking forward and back that would free up fuel sender and then work properly. So several years now, it has not been a problem at all. This Winter, car has been pretty much sitting since early October and am wondering if fuel gauge may stick again. We will see. Not sure how of
  23. Here comes the latest revision #14 update. I have made a couple updates/corrections to Spreadsheet. Please continue verifying your info to ensure it is correct and advise with any correction(s). Appreciate ALL the info received. Doug 1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 14.0 JPG.xls
