  1. OMG!! I'm surprised it has been bid up to $4,000. That is the worst paint scheme/color/rims/engine/etc/etc I have seen in a long time. Guy seems like a real jerk also. Good luck selling that gem!!!
  2. Overdrive: Don't forget to paint the chrome top trim with the flat or satin black, half way, like how it came from the factory. It looks much better, especially on a all black car.
  3. Your original color was Shadow Gray. Use this site to help decode the other numbers: http://www.yearone.com/updatedsinglepages/Id_info/decoding_body_tags.htm Good luck
  4. That one looks nice! But please put on a nice set of BFG T/As with the raised white letters. I am still on my quest to eliminate the ugly blackwalls from these classic cars!
  5. I believe in 1970 only, the 3-spoke "cushion grip" wheel was available as an option also. This is the way to go in my opinion. Very good looking wheel, and not hard to find since they came on many Buicks and Chevelles etc. Why pay for a boring standard wheel? If you find one that is not the right color, just clean it real well and paint it with a "vinyl" paint. It will look great. Much better looking than the 4-spoke Camaro type black wheel, which by the way is not correct for 70.
  6. If your looking for spray paint for your engine compartment, go to eastwoodco.com Eastwood sells all of the correct paints for detailing your engine. You can get a free catalog also. You can just try using a semi-gloss or satin black spray can from any store if you want to save a little money. I used a lot of cheap satin black cans to detail the frame rails, brackets, etc. Just a suggestion. Take pictures before you start taking things apart and label parts in plastic bags, to make it easier to put back together. Good luck and have fun. Good luck and have fun
  7. The website for Classix is: Gearboxgrannie.com
  8. I bought a set of NOS rocker moldings last year from: Classix Auto Recyclers. Try their website: classixauto.partslocator.com or send a e-mail to: classixauto@fuse.net I'm not sure if they still have any but they did have about 6 sets as of last summer. Its a small salvage yard in Sharonville Ohio, by Cincinnati, that specializes in pre 1980 GM cars. Their phone number is: 513-733-9191. I paid about $90 for the pair with clips- perfect, still in original GM wrappers. let me know if you have any luck. Bob
  9. My plastic inner fender wells are cracked also. I wondering if all 1st gen Montes came with plastic wells or did some come with metal? Who sells the plastic ones and are they an exact match to the originals? Thanks
  10. Thanks, What would be the spark plug gap for these plugs?
  11. I want to know what Delco AC spark plug is correct for my 70' 350 2-b? The owners manual says 44T. The parts store says R43S. The ones I took out where R45TS. What's up? Thanks for the help. Bob
  12. Thanks for the replies. I painted them black and they look great now.
  13. I would like to know what the color should be of the "rubber" filler that goes between the rear bumper under the tail lights? Not the black rubber piece that is visible from the side, but the piece under the tail lights. Mine has over-spray from the repaint, and I can't tell if it is supposed to be black, gray or the body color? Thanks, Bob
