  2. That is the area between the back glass and trunk lid.
  3. GREAT! Inline tube is looking good. So, as IMR asked; Steel or Stainless ?????
  4. Hey all, I'm working on a Chevy truck right now, and want to replace the fuel/brake lines. I will also be doing this on my 70 Monte. There are several companies that supply these, but which is your favorite? Which ones are not copies of original, with different bends, ETC??? Thanks, David

    Looking FANTASTIC!! LOVE THE DETAILS
  6. WOW, I would say that was just in time! Doesn't look too bad...
  7. WOW O WOW!!!!!!!! That IS RUSTY!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you save it Leo. You maybe the only one who could.
  8. Looks great!!!!!!!!!! Love the color and interior!!!!
  9. OK, I didn't realize that. My first 70 was a Baltimore, Sept 69 built car. I had the build sheet. It had the chrome under the headlights and the halo vinyl top trim. The 70 I'm looking at now has the chrome under headlights but not the halo vinyl top trim. I just thought it was dealer, or later installed. I love finding out all this great info on the Montes!!!!!
  10. I did not know that! The 70 Monte I'm looking to buy, was an early build (chrome under headlights) Flint car. So, between the strike and not building Montes in 71; Flint built Montes are low numbers... I will find out actual production date soon.
  11. It is on the build sheet, lower left corner. The build sheets were not left in every car tho, and Flint built cars supposedly never had one left inside.
  12. I've got an update. Looks like I will not be getting this car. Funny how he had it for 8 months and did nothing to it. I call about it and he texts me several pictures, and a lowest price is set. I text back after a weekend (he doesn't work on weekends), and the price is up another $600 because they worked on it. After talking it over with my wife, I agreed to pay another $300. He now states that with all the work and parts put on, the price is now $1000 more that when I first inquired about it.... I would love that car, but not playing his game! So, I will get some other stuff sold, get some other stuff cleaned up and keep an eye out for another factory bucket seat 1970 monte. David
  13. They are square. Round lights are old, updated lights are square! People had this idea in the late 70's ....
  14. Rob and others, THANK YA'LL for your replies! Now knowing a FLA dealer had a Flint built car on the lot, helps me out. Another interesting note, was the strike at Flint, didn't know about that, with Van Nuys building an IND car. Great info!!!! The car I'm looking at is now is in the South, but wasn't sure if it has been here or a transplant. Since it's a flint built car, it won't have a build sheet to tell me the dealer it was sent too. It has "Southern" rust, meaning the vynil top leaked around the back window and rusted the trunk floor. Also the trunk weather strip channel is rusty from being full of crap. TOP DOWN RUST What I don't want is to need a frame and all suspension parts because of "NORTHERN" rust... BOTTOM UP RUST. I plan on doing a frame-off, nice build but not perfect. I want to drive the fool out of it! I have a shop, knowledge of doing the mechanical stuff and a restoration shop literally 2 miles from my house. I will let them do the metal replacement and paint. I plan on doing most of the other stuff myself. Again, THANK YOU for your replies. I'll update if/when I get the car. David
  15. Hey all, I'm looking for a 70 Monte to buy. I found one that has lots of rust, but this will be a frame off; last car I rebuild type project (years...). This car looks to be customer ordered, because of the options it has... My first 70 was also customer ordered, I found the Baltimore build sheet. This car I'm looking at was built in Flint, no build sheet will be in it. Dang! Then I got to thinking about the factory making cars, and "MOST" of them being shipped to an area around them? I know some cars were built at a factory and shipped across the US, but those might just be special and not the norm? Does anyone know more about this? My 70 Monte was built in Baltimore and shipped new to North West Florida. I bought it 17 years later just 30 miles from original dealer. I REALLY HATE THAT I SOLD THAT CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another question is the assembly plants themselves. I've known of California, Baltimore, Flint and recently Kansas City, but have never heard of a car from Atlanta, Framingham, Arlington or Fremont. Those are listed in our Tech page, but did they produce mostly Chevelles? So the last question is, if Flint assembled a 70 Monte Carlo, "most Likely" the car was shipped to a dealer in that area or not? I'm from the South, an DO NOT want a car from the north, it already has plenty of other rust to deal with on the body, without adding the frame and suspension to that list. Sorry for the long post! David

    Newb here

JK, that is Gobi Beige for sure. My first 70 Monte was that color exactly. When I bought it in 1986, it had a brown vinyl top. Mine had Saddle buckets and console. Yours is awsome! Good luck with it.
