  1. Thanks for tips. I probably should've mentioned that I bought the kick panels with speaker cutouts from OPGI. Lol
  2. Hey everyone! It's been forever since I've been on here. Anyways, I just ordered one of the panel kits from Classic Dash with the Autometer American Muscles series gauges, a new Kenwood head unit, and a set of 6-1/2 front speakers, and a set of 6x9's for the back deck. All of the instructions are pretty straight forward. I'm checking in to see if anyone else has done something similar with these modern updates? Any tips or tricks or snags that I need to know about? I'll post the progress once I get the stuff and get going on it. Thanks!
  3. Yeah after I posted that, I saw there was a tread in drivetrain on that exact subject. Looks like that dead horse has been brutally beaten on other forums as well, lol.
  4. Looks like the trans subject has been beat to death.
  5. I was doing some searching into the transmission options, I agree O/D would be a good choice with the more aggressive gears. I don't even know what the difference would be since I'm so used to the 2.56's. Great for cruising, anyway I digress. I found this site Transdepot.net. I was wondering if anyone has used these guys before? I did some research, I've found pros and cons between a 200R4 and the 700R4. The only thing I've been able to find conclusive is that the 200 is almost a direct swap for my TH350 and that the 700 is a little less pricey out of the gate. I read about the 700, I would need a different drive shaft and move or get a new crossmember. Is there anything else I would need if I went with the 700?
  6. Thanks for the input guys. I didn't think of the issues with the pushrods. There's a really good machine/motor shop here in Des Moines that I'm thinking about having do the work. I'm sure they'll know all of that, they've built only about a zillion motors for local racers and weekend cruisers like myself. Thanks again, I'll be sure to post updates and more questions once I get the shekels saved up and the build going.
  7. Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've been one here. Hope everyone's doing alright with winter creepin' closer, those of us in the northern latitudes are lamenting preparing to put the toys away. I started doing research into doing a 383 build sometime in the near future. I'm looking to do a medium build, not too wild. I came across a carcraft story from a while back about 383 stroker build, I based my plans off of the medium engine they did (with some deviation). (I'll post the link below in case anyone's curious, and I'm pasting my excel sheet) I'm really foggy on if I'm going with the right cam and if I got the right idea on the headers, I've read mixed forums debating between them and manifolds. The carb might be a little aggressive at 800CFM, but I also put down the EFI conversion from FAST, still on the fence, hence I included both carb and EFI in my spreadsheet. The reviews and articles I found on it, looks pretty solid. Any insight from the experts is much appreciated. Sorry so long winded.
