  1. I am going to give the Powermaster a try I guess. Nick Recommended the Powermaster Model 9500. Said that is the starter the headers were designed around. It seems you guys used different models. May be thats why you ran into some minor clearance issues. Also any motor other than the original LS5 with original heads (Mine are both original but worked) may add additional clearance issues. I also have an original GM heat shield I am hoping to reuse. Wish me luck.
  2. My car is a SS454 automatiic. Guess it would be listed on his site if they fit. dan.
  3. Nick (owner) of ARH just called me. Somehow, there was an internal miscommunication and they accidentally made (2) sets of headers for my order. They are for BB 70-72 Monte's with orig cast heads with (square rounded corners) exhaust ports. Built with 2" primaries with 3" collectors. They are the only headers that fit BB Monte’s with AC. ARH is moving to NC in March and has not been filling any classic header orders. Holding off until late summer. They are strictly producing many of their big sellers for newer cars to have enough inventory to carry them through the time of their move. Nick did me a favor due to his close relationship with my engine builder. I told him I would post their availability here to help him out.... and hopefully someone else looking now to avoid the long delay. Here is the link to ARH. **Ask for Nick if you are interested in these. https://americanracingheaders.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq9yV08LF_AIVzODICh2j4Ar8EAAYASAAEgJPYfD_BwE Hope this helps someone. Dan
  4. NOS Compressor has a buyer. SOLD Awaiting payment. Used Load Level switch SOLD Compressor gasket is SOLD
  5. May also be convinced to sell: - A very rare 6-way power seat track, complete with plastic seat track side covers (for 6-way) and used switch. Also have the hump needed to be welded to floor for rear of set mount for one side. Plus an NOS 6-way pwr seat switch in box. - A very rare power seat back release set up, with wiring harness and NOS door jamb switch. Have not decided whether I will part with these …… but I may be convinced.
  6. As most of us do while collecting for a restoration …. ended up buying a few extra unknowingly. LOL Looking to get a full length set of ARH headers and putting together some $$capitol. Do not know how to post pictures here but have pics ready to email if needed. Selling: _ NOS LL compressor “purchased as NOS” in box. Box was received opened on one end but to me ….believed to be NOS after inspection. You be the judge. It is a cadmium plated version, correct 13 1/4” tank length for the SS454 Monte and comes complete with yellow cap still intact. $750 - Used LL Compressor with shorter tank from Cadillac. Good for needed parts …… missing yellow Cap. $200 - NOS AC Big Block Fuel Pump. 40768 #6470307 ….. for a 1970 Chevelle, El Camino and Monte Carlo with the hydraulic lifter big block including the 396, 400 and 454. It is correct with the AC logo on each side and the part number stamped along the edge. Comes with the original box. $300 - NOS compressor cover seal. Not for the tank … but for the cover of actual compressor. Group 7.457 #5345989 $25 - used Load Level switch with bracket & arm. Original piece from my 87k orig mile WA state car. Have an NOS one if I ever go back to stock. $75 Any questions or if you would like pics just message me with your email or send me an email direct letting me know who you are. Shipping will be simply what I am charged once packaged and addressed to your home. Thanks Dan
  7. Tony, Love the new stance. Gives her a bit of an attitude. I have heard coilovers rid these cars of many of the suspension creaks these cars have. Nice choice. Dan
  8. Nice looking MONTE!! I love the way mine handles. Before SC&C had troubles .... Marc helped me set up my suspension. He wrote the book on "How to make your muscle car handle" He is very knowledgeable. Poly bushings everywhere except Rear upper control arms, and johnny joints on lower arms. SPC upper/lower front control arms, Hotchkis 1" lowering coils (added spacers to get height where I wanted), Hotchkis frame stiffeners, Currectrac dbl adj uppers, billet lower rear arms, Hellwig swaybars (frame mounted rear), double adjustable Vari-shocks front & back. Also utilized a steering box out of a 87 Monte SS. Looks identical to original with progressive ratio (3 turns lock to lock). Just need to use a hybrid connection to mount lines. ANy questions or pics needed let me know Dan
  9. I will take (2) once you get fit & color right. Thanks for the leg work Grant. Dan
  10. Keep the progress coming. Brings back memories when mine was in the same place. You’ll get there .... but it always snowballs! Dan

    True SS?

Supposedly since so few SS Montes were made there not 454's on the Monte assembly line. So very often the motor was added later in assembly and the vin# added at that time to the vertical machined surface by the oil filter. My car was built in CA plant and that is where my vin stamping was. Dan
  12. Well ........... What happened. We are all waiting in suspense. Dan
  13. I remember those days. Scary. LOL. 6 years of collecting parts needed and waiting in line, 6 years of evenings with a member here to finish her. Worth it in the end, but midway we were saying to ourselves "we are to old for this $#!T" LOL. Hopefully, you are younger than we were. If not, know that it will all be worth it in the end. I gotta say. You have a much better set up than the majority of us. Mine was done in a double garage with a wall between them with a door. Very tight, Good luck and keep the pics comin' Dan
  14. Added a box from a 87 Monte SS to mine also. One of the best upgrades. Looks identical to original and bolted right up except for getting the Lares adapters to convert fittings. Dan
  15. If you end up determining you have a lesser quality repro lid that you want to replace, AMD makes a real heavy gauge and quality repro deck lid. I used it on my car and Steve (monteman71) was pretty impressed with the quality. He is not one easily impressed. Dan
  16. Its a 1970 SS454 so no emblem on the rear of car. Assuming that is what you saw. DAN
  17. Tony, With a young family the demands on your time grow year after year. I rarely have a chance to get on here. Kids involved in multiple sports (all travel, sometimes multiple teams per sport per season.... then school sports to boot). Then the house, car responsibilities and "honey do" list. The long hours, stress and everything else you dealt with does not even take into consideration the impact it may have had on you future health. I hope the new career path brings you satisfaction in teaching the art but no longer being a slave to it. Better place to be for many reasons. Dan
  18. Satin black or cadmium plated(gold color). Dan
  19. A Boy Scout is ..... Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean & Reverent. Guess there is no honesty in there LOL! Unless my memory is failing me..... been a few years. Dan

    Monty 2018

Very Nice. Love to see more in the restoration process and saved from becoming parts for a Chevelle. Nice Job. Dan
  21. I'd love to take a try at running a few laps at a dirt track. Love to do some drifting. Not sure I'd get Steve to be the co-pilot though. LOL
  22. Here is the link. Man, this guy has a lot of time on his hands, Just placed his last order of 5 million matchsticks he says. https://whotv.com/2019/01/17/iowa-artist-builds-a-dodge-charger-from-matchsticks/?utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_content=5c4188bc3ed3f00001d8a374&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=facebook
  23. Nice job. Wish my son were in the Scouts so I could have an opportunity for him (me) to make one. Was always a fun night when I was younger. I was more after the show than the go! But I did sand the ridges off nail just under head and insured I had plenty of graphite on the nails before wheel install. I am sure there are many better lubricants to use nowadays, Dan
  24. Curious? How wide is the key holder? May have to start a new thread for key chains ... I will email him to see where he is at. Dan
  25. Hey Kenny, Not to interfere with your studies but I never realized you were so close. With an overdrive tranny I am surprised you haven't joined us more often. We likely have at least 13 restored Montes here on Long Island. Usually get at least 4-5 on any given Sunday at Captree boat basin (old OBI parking lot during beach season when they charge at Captree). If you planned on heading out I am sure we can wake up a few more that have been dormant too much this year. Summers for cruises is great on Long Island. We have cruises on: Tuesdays (OysterBay streets surrounding Billy Joels motorcycle museum), Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday mornings. We all usually pick one or two a week to meet up at so Monte's show up in force. Just reach out if you ever have the urge. Dan
