  1. Just curious, are you using DOT 3 or DOT 5 silicone brake fluid? Bruce
  2. Allan, Thanks, this sounds like what she needs or I need to fix it while she's in Fla on vacation. Bruce
  3. On my sisters PC she has several folders in several different places with the same (duplicate) documents, pictures folders and so on. Is there a program that will find all duplicates so you can delete the older ones? Items are hard to find, edit then find the same edited one again to edit it again. All this is also backed up to an ext HD, so it's a mess. Thanks, Bruce
  4. Keep looking, you may find a smaller shop or even a "back yard" type place. Be careful and get references. My brother found a guy that did his pick-up for a very good price. He ended up doing much more metal fab work and didn't charge extra but it took him 2 years. The finished product is fantastic! Good luck. Bruce
  5. Tim, Very good explanation of the proper way to check automatic transmission fluid level. Not everyone knows or pays attention to these little things. If I may add one thing, make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface. Bruce
  6. Don't have a 400 BUT, on a 350, the vacuum line should be hooked to the rear of the intake (see picture link) and have a loop that rises above the carb level to (I think)keep gas out of it . By "screwed" if you mean there is a screw in it, then the trans won't shift till very high speed like it was at WOT (Wide Open Throttle) The rubber "Repair" hose in the cooler line is typical because it's faster to cut the line then remove it. This is NOT factory but should be OK once you replace the hose. The kick down cable can indeed leak. I think there is an O ring but I don't know for sure. Leaks are so much fun, mine turned out to be A CRACK IN THE WELD ON THE TORQUE CONVERTER after resealing it and replacing the pump didn't help. One of the tubes you mention may be the filler tube / dipstick? That should be secured by a trans to engine bolt at the rear of the engine. Good luck, I'm sure others will have some more suggestions. Bruce Vac tube or line on a 350/350
  7. This picture of my 71, is from the cover of the CARS INC. 2010 calendar.
  8. Original owner 350 4BBL all stock
  9. Yep, about 23 years ago. I think I filed off the wings that keep the pins from falling out, then removed the pins and bushings and replaced them. I think I even still have a new pin I never used. Chevy dealer parts back then. Bruce
  10. I found this but haven't qualifier it as correct. Hopefully it will give you a few ideas. Try searching the web for other posts on this task. Bruce buckets and console install on a Buick
  11. I saw this one time, bad vacuum diaphragm in the power brake booster that caused a massive vacuum leak only when you apply the brakes. Try applying the parking brake (don't use the regular brake) then put it in gear. If it acts the same, the booster isn't your problem. Hopefully you have a properly working parking brake. I'd hate to see you run over someone. Good luck, Bruce
  12. I added a second snorkel back in 71 to my 350 4BBL air cleaner. Modified 350 4BBL air cleaner
  13. I just asked my brother in law Tom Langdon if he has anything. He does have a guy in Michigan near Metro airport that rebuild T-5's for Tom all the time (probably has done over 50 of them that Tom has sold) He also does other transmissions and may have a case. If you went 5 speed, what would hold up to all the power your making? Bruce
  14. I use Google CHROME with no problems. Bruce
  15. It may be a good time to at least check what it would take to change to a 5 speed overdrive unit. Bruce
  16. I assume you will replace or re-install the U-Joints after blasting so nothing gets into the bearings. I know a guy who's painter plastic media blasted his tricked out 300 CID Ford inline six engine, so it would have a great paint job. Problem is with the flywheel off this assembled engine, the bolt holes are not blind and stuff got into the crankshaft then oil pan. Yes, it did mess it up big time! Bruce
  17. Welcome! One more from Michigan, yea! Bruce
  18. I believe it also extends up into the trunk weather strip at an angle on both ends (in the corners) just like between the rocker moldings and the lower door moldings to complete the "black out" look. Bruce
  19. I love them! Could one (1971) be drawn W/O the blower and rally wheels for us original types? Black is good. Bruce
