If Dennis does not have the speaker brackets I got mine from Leo Konick

I have the Holley Sniper on my 350 small block and love it once we got it dialed in after some fouling of the O2 sensor from bad valve seals, new aluminum heads are going to help. Compression should be in the neighbor of 9.3 to 1 so 87 pump gas should be fine according to the local engine gurus. The ProMaxx heads are a 72cc chamber with a 185 runner old stock heads were 76cc and 180 runner. This should give a very nice cruiser setup

I must be a gluten for punishment I finished up my 3rd cut a week ago and it needs it again. My rain gauge is only showing about .7" of liquid snow and I have not emptied it in the last week. Maybe tomorrow afternoon I can fire up the trusty Kubota and get my fourth in. Meanwhile I have gotten the headers bolted up but ran into a snag putting the ac bracket over the headers. I took it off OK but one of the brackets must have shrunk because I cannot get the front bolt into the head it is setting about an 1/8" low ??? do not know why because it came off very easily unless the head is taller but everything else has lined up perfectly. Oh well I needed a break anyhow.

I got a aftermarket dash from the parts place and the wood grain holes that go into the dash pad did not matchup with the holes in the dash

my 70 came with Uniroyal G70 15's. At that time Uniroyal was not noted for having very good tires but between me and my buddy who bought the car off of me we 45,000 miles out of em

Buckets, 4 speed and no console, you don't see that in Monte's very often.
In Danville IN there is a Black 70 with a White vinyl top and interior three speed on the column 2 barrel 350 one owner car. Beautiful specimen

My 350 4bbl had a leak at the seal. The dampener had a groove worn into it. I got a sleeve, put the dampener in the freezer and the sleeve in the oven and the sleeve slid right on. new seal, problem solved.
I had a similar problem with my right rear axle. I got an offset seal to fix it.
That is what I first thought of Bruce but after pulling the balancer off there is no groove. On the axle I had to do the same on one of my cars several years ago

I put a little dab of RTV at the keyway when putting the balancer back on. Oil could ride thru that slot and make its way out the front.
Much the same when installing a new yoke on a pinion gear at the rear differential. They say to put a bit of RTV there also, to stop the lube from migrating thru the splines.
I had not thought of that Thanks Joe

Is it normal for oil to run out the end of the crankshaft when I remove the harmonic balancer bolt. I've had an oil leak on the front of my 350 so while I am working on replacing the heads thought I would do some clean up and when I took out the balancer bolt oil poured out of the hole

@TheBMan , that's cool that you contacted Mobil and got some good info and suggestions back from them! Admittedly, I just bought the O'Reilly brand 10W30, plus an off-the-shelf zinc additive. I suppose one can put more thought into their purchase like you have
"I use the 5W-40 European Car Formula. I also use a Wix 51060 oil filter which has the anti-drainback valve"
Something to keep in mind for next time. And also a good topic for a Sunday morning YouTube rabbit hole I suppose! Thanks for your input here
I think NAPA's part number for their Gold Filter is 1060 and NAPA gold filter are/were made by Wix

I just switched over to NGK UR4 from R45TS AC Delco's the NGK seem to run better for my application 350 bored 20 over roller cam and rockers. The NGK give me a more clearance on my headers also as they are shorter about the tip where the wire snaps on. I was fouling the AC in about 300 miles and got over 600 before the NGK's fouled. Hopefully that problem is now fixed as I replaced my heads but have not got it totally reassembled.

when removing the oil pan I do the same process but after raising the engine I put a block between the block and the motor mount on each side

Ole Red is up and running. I am so tired of working on him that I hope I never have wrench on him again. Still some tweaking to do but we are close to being road worthy again. I’ve tried to up load the video I made but it keeps giving me a 200 error code so I am guessing it is to big of a file
