  1. I ran the double gasket spacers on my 502.Cleared rollers and a big cam.
  2. I just learned about Zero Rust.Does anyone use it and do you use the prep powder? Thanks
  3. I had a Chevelle that I made a bracket that hooked up to the 2 front bolts on the seat track. It fit nicely out of the way in front of the seat.
  4. Most will. Not too many places check the core.
  5. Here is some good reading. http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref29.html
  6. l'm buying a bunch of parts from a guy who is cleaning out his garage. The air cleaner is mint original. What's it worth? Thanks.
  7. I just converted to an electric fan from a Mark VIII.It is the most powerfull junk yard fan and they are cheap. There are a number of companys that make a complete harness.
  8. Has anyone got a pic of the Corvette pan from the side or a measurement of how deep the pan is?I like to see how it compares to my crate 502 pan.I was told mine was a truck pan.It clears everthing except the ground.;)Does the Vette pan hang this low?
  9. Thanks Cudax and Dennis for help posting pics.
  10. I wish I knew how to post pics.I have a shot of my 72 with huge 3 1/2" pipes coming out right under my license plate. It's hilarious. They look like flame throwers. The previous owner had them done that way.I now have the pipes exiting right out the corners at the back.A local exhaust shop got the tailpipes from a school bus and they fit almost as if they were made for the Monte.
  11. I don't know were you heard they are garbage. You are pretty well covered with a 2 year/50K warrenty. The big savings with a crate motor is all the small stuff. Those parts will nickel and dime you to death.I would save the 402 and go with something like this. http://paceperformance.com/i-5146255-gmp...hed-finish.html
  12. So he is going to do the complete re&re for $200?If so.Do it.
  13. I wouldn't count on anything coming loose.Give it your best effort,no matter how long it takes.I would give each bolt a good wack with a hammer.Next I would cut the head of each bolt and remove the manifold.Use penetrating oil on the thread/head area and let it soak overnight.Heat the stud red hot and also the area around the stud at the head.Take a water soaked rag and cool the stud. This causes the stud to retract and brakes the bond with the rust.Use 2 vice grips on the stud and try a back and forth motion to get it started. Good luck.
  14. Hey Darren. Do you have a crossover pipe?
