How many sections should the chrome piece that sits on top of the tail light lens have, on a '71 Monte. Mine has 6 sections, and I was told that they are wrong for a '71. Hi Gav, I have a Helm 1971 Chassis Service Manual that I use when I'm not sure of something. It covers Monte Carlo, Chevelle, Nova, Camaro, & Corvettes. I paid $40 for it brand new, a few years ago. It shows everything from frame stuff, to engine stuff, to dashpad/guage removal stuff. Great Book!!! Their website is helminc.com. The form # for the '71 book is ST32971.
