3. WOW, I'm stunned! I haven't been here for a few days, and I come back to hear this TERRIBLE news. I am very sorry to hear what happened. George will be missed greatly... Ben N
4. Wow Kevin, that's a shocker!!! I also ditto the responses above. Thanks for all you have done, and don't be a stranger to the rest of us. Good luck in your future endeavors!!! PS: I HOPE you're NOT gonna go off and start a Mustank club!!! HA HA HA, LOL... Ben N
5. What a piece of $hit that [you said a naughty!]hole turned out to be! Sorry to hear what happened to you!!! When you go to pick your car up, you should DEFINATELY let the Sheriff know that you are going there. I'd also request an escort by the Sheriff's Dept., just in case the [you said a naughty!]hole decides to do something stupid. Then let them throw his sorry [censored] in freakin' jail where it belongs... The lowlife that he is. Good Luck To You, Ben N

Now the 70 does not have any sections. Thanks for the quick response Pete. It was bugging me, that they might not be the correct ones. Then again, not much of my car is "correct" anyway. HE HE HE HE, LOL... Ben ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! Best Regards, Ben http://thenunz69.tripod.com/
11. How many sections should the chrome piece that sits on top of the tail light lens have, on a '71 Monte. Mine has 6 sections, and I was told that they are wrong for a '71. Anyone have the correct answer for me??? Thanks Again, Ben ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! 12. Hi Gav, I have a Helm 1971 Chassis Service Manual that I use when I'm not sure of something. It covers Monte Carlo, Chevelle, Nova, Camaro, & Corvettes. I paid $40 for it brand new, a few years ago. It shows everything from frame stuff, to engine stuff, to dashpad/guage removal stuff. Great Book!!! Their website is helminc.com. The form # for the '71 book is ST32971. Ben ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! 13. Ian, Thanks. I can hardly wait to see the finished product. Hooter, Do you have a photo you can e-mail to me??? Ben ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! Best Regards, Ben http://thenunz69.tripod.com/
14. Thank You All For Your responses. Wallaby: The stuff I bought is called Bare-Metal with an Ultra Bright Chrome finish. It's a foil material with adhesive backing. Ian: Yes, please e-mail me a photo. It sounds like the same type of pen I used to get Reggie Jackson's autograph on a black baseball bat that I had custom made with all of his stats. What is the name of the pen you used??? Thanks Again, Ben ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! 15. Quote: Originally posted by Rob Peters: Ben, Are you talking about the same finish as is on the steering wheel on some of the First Gens? If so, I would try a silver or aluminum color. Rob Hi Rob, The "Silver / Chrome" finish on steering wheel center-post border looks pretty close to what I'm looking for. The area I need to re-do, is the outer rim (or edge) of the woodgrain looking dash panel. It's about a 1/4" section/border that goes almost all the way around the dash panel. I think that section was supposed to be shiny. But on a 31 year old car, I guess some of the finish/paint wore off. What I'm looking for is something to re-do it with. I'm trying to re-do it without taking the dash apart. Thanks Again, Ben ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! 16. Is there such a thing as GOOD chrome paint? I'd like to re-paint my dashboard face around the edges, where that chrome painted plastic edge is (it's about 1/4"). I picked up some Bare Metal Foil (chrome finish), from a local hobby shop, but I'm not sure that is the best way to go. Any advise? Thank You, Ben
17. You'll need to post your e-mail address in your profile first. As far as the Mrs. goes, try to get her to agree, that we all could be doing alot worse things with our time & money than reading posts, and enjoying our cars. Just as long as you enjoy each other first!!! Hope that helps! Good Luck!!! ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!! Thanks, Ed Hey Pete, Please forward me a copy too. I'm thinking of replacing my clock as well, because it's only right twice a day . But the problem is I have a master battery cut-off, so the new clock would keep stopping anyway. Got any ideas??? Where does a quartz clock get it's power from??? 22. First I sprayed the Impala with Simple Green Cleaner, then power-washed it. Then on Saturday, my sons & I visited our local autobody supply store "Goodfellow's". We bought 6 cans of U-Pol Satin Black spray paint ($3.75 ea.) for the engine compartments etc., of the Monte & our '65 Impala. I spent Sunday using all of it. The Impala came out EXCELLENT. The Monte is next!!! I'm going back today (Monday) to buy a case. Good Luck!!! ------------------ Remember: Your car isn't LOUD enough, until it rattles the china in your neighbors' china cabinets!!!
