  1. This is my fb for the Monte, I made it so my sister (the actual owner of the car) and my parents can follow the progress of the car. but anyone can like it and follow along www.facebook.com/Sheila70MC
  2. This is how she has been stored for the past 2 years...actually this is uncovered, been in back of garage under boxes. Engine and Transmission removed. Engine was donated to the El Camino you see in the background.
  3. WOW ITS BEEN ALONG TIME. FINALLY able to work on the Monte again, due to moving and problems with my el camino, i was unable to work on the monte BUT here we are with the Patch fitted and tacked to the Fender
  4. This sunday I hope to pull the engine and transmission, and fit patch to the fender.
  5. Picture of me cutting off the panel Drilling out the spot welds with a spot weld drill Rusty part removed and ready for POR15 POR15ed and ready for patch.
  6. Finally got back into working on the monte...didn't do much but its a start...hope to do more this week. Fender before Fender rust cut out
  7. I figured I should share some pics of parts I have began to collect for the rebuild of the Monte. These parts I purchase from Jared. A new fender extension to replace the rusty one and a set of marker lens. This is a pair of NOS rear bumper guards I picked up for a good price.
  8. hahah well regardless of which color is the best...this monte is gonna be the factory GREEN with the GREEN Vinyl top AND the GREEN interior. lol that is how my sister wants the car. she currently drives a GREEN Jeep Cherokee, that I saved from the crusher, just needed a motor. Oh! and my mom has a GREEN Jeep Grand Cherokee. My short term goal for the Monte is to have the metal and body work done this winter. And as much fun as a convertible would be, I do live in the great state of Washington, soooo think I will keep the metal roof.
  9. Ah i am in....in either a monte AND an elco ...or just an elco
  10. I have a question on the topic of the rear window, i just installed a rear window in my friends 1972 nova about 2 months ago, and the size and shape seemed the same as when we removed my montes rear window last week, now I know the nova is much smaller but the rear window seems to fill the car up more then the monte, and they have the same dished style to them and so i was wondering if they may also be the same. just curious. though i would assume the monte one is a larger version
  11. Windshield coming out. Some rust in cowl at base of windshield Rear glass out Drivers side fender back from blasters, sent it there cuz it had alot of filler.
  12. Passenger fender off. My friend helping remove the core support. The trunk needs some paint and a new mat and its done! Found a steering column with correct wheel and switched the wheel to the old column. My friend again in the pic helping remove the dash. Removing the fuse panel and wiring. Dash out, going to my friends house where he will restore it. Dash out.
  13. Almost forgot the pictures! some of these are repost from the new members forum but figured they should go here too! The roof skin is junk so I plan on using a chevelle panel and modifying it. The cowl and fenders have typical lower rust.
