  1. I have not been on the boards for a few days and really concerned to see this thread. We pray for Rob's mend back to health and support for Pat and family.
  2. Kroil and a 12 pt socket should do the deed. After the soaking, use ever so gently increasing pressure with the 12 pt socket. Kroil is about the best stuff I have used. Good luck.
  3. dbreese is right, Paint Code #43 for 1972 was Gulf Green. '71 was close, but with a little more gold in it.
  4. Uh, Rob, are you at it again with an early April Fool's joke on this one. You did good on this one, Rob!! Oh, wait a sec, this person is actually serious. Sorry, I was going to give Rob credit for a good prank.
  5. My original still works, but I never use it. All it does is just blow air around. I think it must have been a "must have" option that served no practical function. It just blows cold air on low or high speed. Go figure.....
  6. Have not been on for a couple of days, and to read this is sad. I met Ronnie at Norwalk, and what a peach of a guy. My prayer is with him and his family.
  7. Cort, same back to you. Good to see you, but weekend, once again too short. Besides cars, I would have really liked to talk more of music with you. I know you have a wealth of tunes info.
  8. Great meeting you also Bob. Hope your trip home was good. Ours was really HOT w/o air. Whenever I come up that way for a show, I'll give you a shout.
  9. Was good to see fellow FGMCC members again this past weekend and also meet a couple of members for the first time. Sorry if I miss anyone, chime in to correct me. Class winners are as follows: 70-72 Mike Boyte '72 Summerfiled, NC Tim Funk '72 Westerville, OH Gold Class Jim Garrett '72 Pickerington, OH Peoples Choice Mark Patrone '70 McDonald, OH Next year's Nationals will be 6/24-6/26 in York, PA.
  10. This was my second Eastern Meet and had a great time. The leadership of the club & the co-ordination of the Meet was pretty outstanding!! Job well done....tip of the hat to you!!! Everyone also has very nice cars and was great to see them in person. Oh, uh, yeah, the owners were pretty great, too. Seeing all the nice rides keeps me wanting to do more with mine. Thanks for all the comaraderie, it was a fabulous time and I will be back for more Meets. Thanks, too, for selecting my car for Best Stock Award. I am truly humbled. I go to shows for the adventure of driving the car, meeting people, and enjoying the event. An award is a bonus, not expected, but greatly appreciated. Thanks again!! Oh, thanks to whoever was responsible in getting my "double admission" refund from Sunday. Richard Savage told me how, Jared asked if I did, but Mark Patrone was the only one I mentioned it to early that morning. Or whoever else had a hand in on it, A BIG THANKS!!!
  11. Greg, good choice for either source. Can't get much more straight up than Leo. Also, I know the Right Stuff guys personally, local biz where I live. My company makes some of their parts for them. Anyone going to the Eastern Meet should check out there booth at Super Chevy. The owner also is a trophy sponsor at Super Chevy.
  12. This is the first I have been on the boards in a few days and am saddened by the news of Robyn's passing. My condolences to the Lance family. I know he will be sorely missed by all. Like others, I never met Robyn, but had exchanges a few PMs with him. Always was a straight up guy. Will miss his humor.
  13. I believe that to be a fair price. I just had the shop who did my seats quote new vinyl top, new headliner, and new carpet installed for $1500 (tax included). I really want to do this and a couple of other things which totals about $2500 altogether. But, I might have to put off again due to the work in our shop is a little slow. I wanted to have this done for the Eastern Meet and the NMCOA Nationals. Oh well, patience, patience.
  14. Robyn, prayers for you on a speedy recovery and support for your wife as well.
  15. Tom, welcome to the site. Maybe try Kroil made by Kano Labs in Nashville. It's a creeping lubricant and gets the job done. Our Maint. Mgr. at the shop swears by it. We "green" guys get the raz around here but that's ok. Good luck with the project. Nice to see another Central Ohio Monte. We are only about an hour apart (north edge of Columbus). I'll throw out a shout if I attend any shows in the Dayton area.
  16. Dave, I bet you had fun with those Impalas. Great cars, great memories. Oh man, I just had a "senior moment".
  17. Dave--this first time I saw the 396/425hp Impala when it was introduced in 1965, I was in love. I saw one in a parade then and thought it was the baddest thing at the time. I took my driver's test in my Dad's new 1965 Impala (283 cube family car). Parallel park one of them big cars, which I still do today. Cracks me up when I watch people try to parallel park in today's smaller cars. Can't do it or has a hard time.
  18. I spent a weekend with a friend of mine at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich, back in 1969. Went to Berger Chevrolet and saw a aluminum big block Camaro in the showroom for a sticker price of over $6K. Little did I know then what today would be. Also, there was a Pontiac dealer in Cincinnati that stuffed 428ci motors into GTOs as a dealer option like the Yenkos. Went to an all Pontiac show years ago & stumbled into the rare 428 GTO and learned something of its history. But, memory has faded somewhat, but I do remember number of 428 GTO I saw at that show.
  19. My bone stock '72 has one horn on the driver's side.
  20. Went to a small car show last summer. There sat an unmolested TRUE 71 SS. Light blue color (paint was fading but still looked good) with blue vinyl top. Spoke with the owner (who also had a very nice '55 Packard in the show) and saw the build sheet of this 32K miles car. Car was bench seat with idiot lights and no gauges or tach. The dealer in Bellefontaine, Ohio ordered the car this way. Was a nice surprise to see this true unmolested car. Yes, load level was there with all the lines, and the boxed arms, etc.
  21. David---nice adventure, like "Two-Lane Blacktop", right?? Nice looking car. First time saw your car at the NMCOA Convention in Nashville about 5 yrs ago. Killer looking car. I was just starting the work on mine. I, too, am '72 Gulf Green with matching vinyl top. Am 2nd owner for the car. Great loloking car. Good luck with the racing.....
  22. Scott--one other to try. therightstuffdetailing.com sells brake lines, transmission lines, disc brake conversions, and all associated hardware. Good luck.....
  23. I have used that Big Yellow Book since 1989 at work (in Purchasing). Nice thing about McMaster is they don't sell junk. Sometimes not the cheapest in town, but order it & get it the next day. Much better selection than Grainger.....
  24. Leo--checked my numbers off the body tag last night. Here they are for your info..... 1972 Sport Coupe 350 c.i. 2 bbl 350TH ST72 13057 K6993158DY 715 A52 43 GRNT A0275 Car was built Leeds Plant, Kansas City, MO
  25. Leo--I will check my tag tonight as mine was built in KC. The original 350 c.i. 2 bbl small block is in the car. I will post tomorrow. BTW---have you found the exhasust manifold "stove" part since I bought the rigid tube from you last year?? When we spoke, you were going to look. Let me know, I'm still interested for the piece. Maybe see you at the NMCOA meet in Cincy or FGMCC meet in Indy.
