  1. Is there enough room to install the 454 with auto transmission attached? Do I have to take the hood off? I pulled the transmission to fix leaks and now need to replace the engine oil pan gasket which I can do in the car. But I don't know if I can possibly get the top transmission bolts back in and was considering pulling the motor instead. I already have the radiator removed for re-core and one header off.
  2. From an old post I found Larry's info. vmrmachining. com, user post 71ss454 *. It's probably been over a year ago when I bought the repos from Larry. Do a search on all forums; Larry, brackets
  3. Thanks to everyone for there help so far. I can't find Larry's contact info, I'll keep looking though.
  4. I bought brackets from Larry to mount my tank. Does anyone know how I can mount the tank side? From pictures on this site it looks like it had either steel threads or a threaded stud incased in rubber. I don't have the diaphram end mounting pieces either but that will be a lot easier to copy. Any help would be appreciated. Happy Fourth!
  5. While we are on the subject of engine ID... I'm trying to match the LS5 in my '70 SS but there is not a partial VIN on the engine pad stamp, only T1208CRN. Did they use another location? As for date code I see "HI PERF PASS" and a "K" near the oil filter but no 2 digit number after the "K". Barry

    Exhaust tips

Thanks to everyone for the answer to my question on the length of the air ride tank. I'm new to this site and may be askings a lot of questions. From experience who knows where to buy a good quality heavy set of tips? The ones I took off my car were different in quality, one heavy gauge, one lightweight. You just don't know what your going to end up when ordering online. Thanks.
  7. I saw this post from jays55. "Have the seller measure the length before bidding on this for your Monte! The Caddy units are usually shorter that the units used on Montes. The Monte unit is 17 3/4", the Caddy is 15 1/4" (end to end roughly). Unless you just want it for part!." The last ebay item that went for $575 was the short version and the current ebay item is the shorter version per the seller. What is correct for my 70 SS?
