  1. It was requested that I document my engine build This thread/s will be a "pinned" thread and it will be closed after each addition I make to it I am doing this to keep responses/replies/comments out to make it easier for others who wish to learn about assembling an engine another thread will be started and "pinned" for responses/replies/comments to this thread I will be building a 1978 .030 over 454, cast crank, 2-bolt mains with a ARP stud kit installed the machine shop has cleaned, inspected the line bore, cylinder bores, lifter bores, cleaned all oil passages and install new plugs the decks have been cut approx .010 new cam bearings installed, rods reconditioned and installed new ARP rod bolts the rotating assembly has been balanced too ROTATING ASSEMBLY.... stock cast crank that has been cut .010/.010 stock rods with 3/8" ARP bolts Speed Pro forged pistons L2399F .030 13.8 cc dome ATI super dampner HEADS..... stock 781 cast iron heads, 1979 vintage 2.19/1.88 valves installed Lunati beehives springs/retainers to match cam heads have been milled to bring the combustion chambers down to 108cc Comp Cams 4021 stud girdles Comp Cams Hi-Tech roller rockers CAM... Lunati VooDoo hydraulic roller 20110712 lift intake exhaust .601 .601 duration @ .050 intake exhaust 231 239 Lobe separation angle 110 degrees intake centerline 106 here's a couple of pictures getting set up
