P  Painting the motor sandblasting new gaskets then reassemble. seems like a lot of work but the only way to make it look right.                   When sandblasting any motor part like a intake it's very important to pressure wash over and over to make sure all is clean then get the backpack blower out lol.

No exactly something to the Monte, but something for the Monte. I purchased a plug-n-chug cup holder for my car and have never been satisfied with it because the cup holders are small and only fit a can or water bottle but not an actual cup that I would use. Anyway, I proceeded to deconstruct the PNC and saw how it was made. Then I scoured the internet and finally found cup holder inserts of a suitable size from an online casino supply store. Next I reconstructed the cup holder with the larger cup inserts and had the whole thing reupholstered at a local place. I now have a cup holder for the car that slides into the ashtray and holds my Yeti and S'well insulated cups. This will be very convenient for the upcoming journey to the western meet. Ill grab some pics and post them in a few or if anyone wants a pic of the finished product they can pm me. I admit the upholstery guy could have done a much better jobs of getting the seams straight but the important thing is I can enjoy a frosty or hot beverage while driving. WOOT!

What color is your Monte.  My first Monte, (1970 Monte) that I bought, new, off a dealer show room floor in early September of 1970 was Desert Sand color and over the past 20 years I think I have only seen one other Desert Sand 70 Monte.

That’s golden brown, took me about 35 years to get accustom to it, now I love it!

Tim that is the color my 72 was from the factory. When I stripped it in 2013 I found it under the Ferrari Red that was on it it then and repainted it the same. I never could get used to it although yours does look very good

I call it gold. I had painter match original code. Not sure what the official name of that color is.

Rebuilt the front brakes and finally got the QA1 coilovers on the rear to compliment the front and took it out for the local cruise night. Feels really good driving down the road now. Next step redo the seat mounts to get the front seats lower in the car.

I got the name from an original gm paint brochure, mine is still original paint from the doors back, had to paint the fenders and hood, the rest isn’t too stock any more 😂

Expect to have a great time. I will bet the members going to Bristol will be just as great as the ones that went to Carlisle ( some are the same. A lot of the members do exchange numbers but it’s done through private message. Not a great idea to put them on the site and out to the world. I get enough “ your car warranty has expired “ don’t need anymore robo calls. Have fun, you won’t be disappointed.

Cooler weather here in Tennessee a little cleaning and a short ride up to Monteagle. Stopped at high point this was a hideout for Alcopone from 1925 to1931 he would pick up moonshine going between Chicago and Miami. High inn steak house now.
